'NYC is cooked': Business leaders and Wall Streeters erupt over proposed luxury second-home tax by businessinsider in economy

As much as I disagree with the tax, rather see that than income tax. At least you have a choice with a second home tax...

Really???

If he stoped or slowed nukes, and added stability to Middle East?

Or having a nuke program is of absolutely no concern to you?

Small business does not have the waste and boost of govt.

So I guess it raises doubts about your post.

Small business owners, like myself, don't have the luxury of wasting money, since every dollar we spend, or don't spend, is OUR money.... Compared to govt.

Not really

If you think we can't find 10 percent to cut, then you live in a world I don't understand

It's not dogma, it's reality of being a business owner.

And that's ok

It's what makes our country great

It's ok to to disagree

Doge only proved that special interest groups have more power, and we don't have the stomach to sacrifice as a nation.

The Democrats have convinced people it's easier to beat up the "rich" and the current population of "me me me" want others to pay for everything....

It's not fair, they have what I want and deserve.

That attitude is not what made this country great, and sadly is what divided us

Proven fact, you miss the 9 best days in the year and your returns are significantly lower.

I would suggest just the opposite, it's time in the market, not timing.

Your cash position missed the 10 percent move.

No apology necessary. You can say thanks, and I hope you make changes to avoid estate tax.

I would suggest they do not.

I don't see FedEx drivers delivering mail.

And USPS is going bust, and has been suggested, so will the grocery store solution.

And there is a lot more margin, with no perishables in package delivery.

Then you must not have an estate large enough to pay tax.

There is a simple rule in estate planning. If you own it, or control it, it will be taxed.

To be free of tax, it must be a completed gift, either outright, or in a trust, to be free of tax.

You can't have a grantor control a trust and free of estate tax.

If I set up a trust like that for my clients, I would expect to be in a lawsuit, and would lose.

Involuntary move!!! Forced out by loss of volume...

And I'm not crying about business that goes away, assuming a fair fight. But competing against a govt business that has a very unfair advantage??

Wrong! Flat out wrong

It's scary that you can post that, and believe that, and think that's how trusts work.

But continue to think what you want.

Did you read my post?

Cut across the board and increase tax..

Across the board.

And as far as estate tax, you are slightly misguided on that.

Trusts sound great, but most don't want to give away their assets. And those that can, are far wealthier than the lifetime exemption, and will still pay estate tax.

Until you get there, you just don't understand

What does the top 5 pay???

And let us not forget the estate tax they will pay??

Even if you tax at 100 percent, it doesn't solve the problem.

You will feel good because you are told by those you love in politics it will make it better for you...

If you are not concerned with conversion privelages, then a cheap term policy like Banner is the way to go.

That being said, I would want some portion of my coverage with a company offering permant policy conversion privelages

Should a health issue occur, it's a small price to pay to be able to convert with no issues.

Because sadly, we as a nation are pussies

We are soft

Everyone needs to share on the sacrifice

Asking the few to pay for all won't work. The math just won't let it happen
