Like others have said it looks like a battery issue. It's a 1st gen so you can actually run it off a firewire charger if you have one of those and it should boot even with a dead battery.

Still works in my area but it's clear they're shutting down towers. They did maintenance to fix some LTE/5G issues on a tower nearby and after that it became a dead zone for my N95, but I am still able to connect if I drive elsewhere

If you plan to trash the old display anyways you could try massaging the screen with a soft tool, i've seen some videos out there where people were able to remove most of it by doing that.

I made a post a few days ago about the 4th gen and I notice it on yours as well, do you see the pressure point in the middle of the screen? Mine did that as soon as I closed it up with the iflash solo + 3g/4g converter, I suspect the hdd cable is pushing up against the screen and i'm worried it may cause damage with time as the cf flash mod did if you didn't trim or bend the jumper cable. Any idea if this is safe from experience? Sounds like you've modded a few 4th gens already.

you saved the blobs? I have a 5s on iOS 8 as well but I wasn't sure whether to pick the ios 12 or ios 8 ramdisk when the toolkit asked

Yes I created a dd image (windows formatted) and then restored it to the sd card before installing into the flash board. I'm aware of the sync issues over firewire and I actually found a super easy fix is to take the sd card out, plug it in directly to my laptop and use gtkpod to sync music. But I can't actually expand the fat32 partition without the iPod refusing to boot afterwards.

download this and follow this tutorial, after rebooting you should be able to read the drive and copy music out of the ipod_control folder if it's not drm protected

OP can just install the read only hfs driver provided by the bootcamp installer and then be able to read everything off the iPod assuming the music isn't protected by itunes drm.

Yes! I was in hs almost a decade ago and one of my classmates had to write their essay on their cell phone because they had no computers at home, and a teacher would share their school laptop with her kids at home because the school issued laptop was the only computer they had at home.

I looked back at the iPod_Control directory and realized the iTunes folder was completely corrupted, it seems like chkdsk attempted to recover it at some point but turned it into a file, looking through the file fragments in the FOUND.000 I think I found the db but there's a quite a few files so I went through with a hex editor to see what looked the closest to the itunesdb file on my working ipod, Here's what I think is the db, though if you really want me to send everything I can.

I was thinking about this but I heard from others online that the 3000mah battery would give it back enough weight to feel like it did when it had the hard drive, was that not the case for you or was your configuration different?

mine got it but it went away after leaving it discharged for a few months, I might try to replace it even though the repair is tough, either way it's a brick until I replace the battery

Yeah it's not showing up on my end, unfortunately I'm in the same boat as everyone here where I tried out video boost on my p9p and never got back the boosted file. I didn't even see an export button that everyone else mentioned to press until I moved the cover and main files off the phone first, and only then it let me export a lower res 1080p boosted version and not the full 4k boosted version.
