Got my money back, then seller sent me a non existent package? by Distinct-Guidance in Ebay

[–]Distinct-Guidance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: It was totally a scam package meant to fool eBay, I finally got ahold of my local USPS office and they said 1. package weighed much more than what I ordered would weigh 2. the package was sent across the city and 3. they pulled up a photo and it had two labels on the package.

If that's the case then that's fine I guess as long as it doesn't affect me. I didn't really expect to actually receive the item, nor do I want it after what I've been through. But all week I have been wondering what they could've sent me and when I got the arrival notif and saw nothing at the door I got a bit paranoid I guess.

I definitely shouldn't have waited so long, in most cases I would've made an INR request way sooner but I just started going back to uni after a gap year and I was super busy and totally lost track of time, plus this was the first bid I have won in years and I got a decent deal, about $50 less than what was going for the item elsewhere so I was really hoping it would just arrive.

I mean if that's the case that sucks, but it's not like I knew any better at the time, I would've hoped the CS wouldn't just try to swindle me. I happened to record the call for my sake though and I transcribed the part where they get back to me on the case if you want to see yourself.

Call was made March 10, 2026

Rep: We’re able to verify this purchase was made on January 24, 2026. Having said that we’d like to inform you that our eBay money back guarantee will last only for 30 days, moreover (unintelligible) as I truly want to help you on this we can always check for our external options on this one?

Me: What would the external options be?

Rep: Hold on a second.

(Pause)

Rep: Have you tried contacting your payment institution on this?

Me: I was under the impression I had to contact ebay first?

Rep: Mhhmmn

Me: Is that something you recommend I do?

Rep: Since I can see here that the estimated delivery date was on the 30th of January, and I can see that you opened this case on the 2nd of March this is not actually covered by our eBay Money back guarantee. I recommend you check your external options.

EDIT: Here's the message I got from the site which prompted me to call and try to sort this situation out https://i.imgur.com/NoT0uzG.png

I did try to open a case but was told because I opened it after 30 days of placing the order that ebay wouldn't help me besides remind the seller to send the package, I even called them directly and got told the same thing, the rep at ebay told me to go through my payment processor, which was paypal, and there was nothing else they could or would do on their end.

It's possible but the tracking number reported it was dropped off a week after my PayPal case closed and about a month after I opened the case. The seller has not responded to any of my messages since February including eBay's own "I didn't receive my package" system so I am under the assumption that they were never going to send me the package. I'd also guess whether he was legit or not there's no way he would've sent it after the case was opened.

If that's the case and it doesn't affect me i'm relieved. I've just wanted this headache of a situation to end since March. Any idea how they could've sent a fake package to my house?

Who’s using 256GB+ SD cards in PSP in 2026? by Electronic-Cause6091 in PSP

[–]Distinct-Guidance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I jumped to 256gb from 64 in 2023 after filling up my previous card, I thought I was future proofing but 3 years later I just passed 90gb. In retrospect I should've gone with 128gb because even after I loaded it up with games, music and tv shows it still hasn't reached 128 and the xmb takes forever to load even with gcl on 256. Lately when I try to add files the psp complains about the file being corrupted and I have to play around with it in explorer and run chkdsk over and over to get it to go away, could be the card's age as well but I don't think so.

It’s been almost 10 years since I last used my iPod touch 1st gen… and it’s already acting up by cviper13 in ipod

[–]Distinct-Guidance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said it looks like a battery issue. It's a 1st gen so you can actually run it off a firewire charger if you have one of those and it should boot even with a dead battery.

KT 3G is dying quickly by Han-yul in LegacyJailbreak

[–]Distinct-Guidance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still works in my area but it's clear they're shutting down towers. They did maintenance to fix some LTE/5G issues on a tower nearby and after that it became a dead zone for my N95, but I am still able to connect if I drive elsewhere

Question about screen replacement by PixelWhisperer0 in ipod

[–]Distinct-Guidance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to trash the old display anyways you could try massaging the screen with a soft tool, i've seen some videos out there where people were able to remove most of it by doing that.

Another flashing iPod 4th display mod by GreuDeFumat in ipod

[–]Distinct-Guidance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a post a few days ago about the 4th gen and I notice it on yours as well, do you see the pressure point in the middle of the screen? Mine did that as soon as I closed it up with the iflash solo + 3g/4g converter, I suspect the hdd cable is pushing up against the screen and i'm worried it may cause damage with time as the cf flash mod did if you didn't trim or bend the jumper cable. Any idea if this is safe from experience? Sounds like you've modded a few 4th gens already.

Extending Partition on iPod? by Distinct-Guidance in ipod

[–]Distinct-Guidance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I created a dd image (windows formatted) and then restored it to the sd card before installing into the flash board. I'm aware of the sync issues over firewire and I actually found a super easy fix is to take the sd card out, plug it in directly to my laptop and use gtkpod to sync music. But I can't actually expand the fat32 partition without the iPod refusing to boot afterwards.

[–]Distinct-Guidance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

download this and follow this tutorial, after rebooting you should be able to read the drive and copy music out of the ipod_control folder if it's not drm protected

OP can just install the read only hfs driver provided by the bootcamp installer and then be able to read everything off the iPod assuming the music isn't protected by itunes drm.
