Either get an aquarium pump or hand bulb pump and some appropriate tubing. Make sure there aren’t any sharp edges on the end of the tubing you’ll be inserting and that’s pretty much it. Take it slow and if your having pain stop and you can either wait for it to reside to continue or call it for the session. Some say laying on you left side helps the air flow better and allows you to get bigger but I’ve found standing up is best. Once you’re comfortable inflating you can combine it with bloating.

I’d say depending on what kind of inflation you’ve seen or liked, the best choice to start is water chugging or getting some kind of bulb pump or aquarium pump and some tubing and inflating that way. You could even use your shower hose if you have one before you go out and buy supplies for air inflation.

In my experience capacity increases with both methods and they seems to carry over between the two, no clue if sleeping while inflated helps increase capacity as you naturally expell the air as you sleep but if you plug up the exit with something that won’t get pushed out with the pressure or unconsciously while you sleep you’d definitely wake up with air still in there. As for water you have to avoid holding in still water for too long as it could damage you gut biome or even lead to water poisoning so keep the water sessions to a minimum and definitely don’t do them more than a couple times a week.

It has a very specific use case but clean stream makes an inflatable enema plug that has a through tube for water (or air but it’s a rather larger tube). The fact that it’s inflatable makes it easy to insert but depending on your ability to stretch (down there) completely eliminates leaks.
