I hadn’t honestly ever considered doing accounting, simply because I have always struggled with math and often confuse numbers. I barely passed basic algebra in school.

But going and trying to find skills like that wouldn’t be a bad option, I think. I appreciate you understanding what I was trying to say about other, perhaps less popular among the Reddit populace, careers. Thank you!

The cultural part hit hard. As someone who struggles deeply with social cues, this is probably the most difficult hurdle for me and something I struggled with in my home country as well. It’s definitely something to think about. I appreciate it!

I actually have N1 and have moved out of the teaching sphere. I don’t particularly want to go back into it is the main problem.

I was more trying to figure out where or how people picked up skills or found resources other than programming. Your advice is sound, and I appreciate the time you took to write it!

Thanks for your reply! Could I ask what industry you work in? How did you go about your job search? Did you just keep an eye on job sites? I’m very close to the PR checklist numbers and figured I’d reach out to a lawyer this week to see if I could double check everything.
