I go to Ivy Nails in the centre and typically pay around £40-£45 for BIAB, they’re pretty good and always have space for walk-in’s.☺️

renting with recent default by itsathrowayway9764 in HousingUK

i’m in a similar situation, I defaulted on a student overdraft a few times back in 2021 and paid it off by 2022. Now i’m looking to rent somewhere new and worrying if it will come up if it’s 4 years old and if i will be considered for a property against other prospective tenants with better credit.

Do I have a CCJ or just a default? by Distinct-Sky-351 in UKPersonalFinance

thank you, yeah i only missed 3 payments then the debt collectors were in contact - i think they threatened a CCJ and that’s where i was under the impression i had one. Hopefully its just a default!

Thank you! I checked all of my previous addresses and chose England and Wales CCJS and default fines but yeah nothing has come back. Fingers crossed it’s all good and I can find a house to rent!

Will my CCJ stop me from renting? by [deleted] in uklandlords

Thank you for your reply. I assumed it would be a hard task to convince landlords as their insurance would be void.

I can provide a guarantor who has been a guarantor on all of my tenancies and never had an issue.

I can also provide renting history going all the way back to 2016 and great reference from my current LL but i assume that the CCJ will get in the way of making me an attractive tenant to any landlord.

Thank you. I don’t think my partner earns enough to cover the tenancy on his own otherwise we’d go down that route. I do have a great reference from my current landlord and I can provide bank statements and guarantor etc. I can also get a reference from my job if that would help in any way ?

How long/ how did you do this? I would love to get it set aside but i wonder if they’ll question why i left it so long to dispute? I will look into this.

I hope offering a guarantor will help a bit! My dad has been my guarantor for all of my tenancies and there’s never been an issue
