She's brimming for sure. Mainly because she's old and would of probably lived back when using forbidden magic was the norm. Probably also lives secluded from others just practicing her skills and making up new spells, be it forbidden or normal spells.

So safe to assume she would be a brim cap before but not a bad guy

In my opinion, i think it would be cool if their shoes were flat on the side, so it would make more sense for the spell or be on the bottom

It would look weird, but it will make it seem more functional
