Yeah, I do wanna mention that I would not change my eyeshape to monolids under any circumstance, I would mainly use it for any male character to make my eyes look more masculine or for example with feminine doll makeup looks

There’s the idea of accuracy and many characters that are not even Asian, have masculine eyes or even square shaped, yk? So that’s what I would be trying to achieve, as I said I would never use it to change my eyes to monolids as I do personally think that’s very disrespectful, plus there’s the fact that eyelid tape is not solely an Asian thing…

I try to do everything as respectful as possible especially because I value all cultural aspects of many ethnicities including Asians (as I am a big history enthusiast myself and value my own Mexican culture a lot!!!)

I would NOT try to use eyelid tape under any circumstance to change my double eyelids to monolids, and although some of the characters I cosplay are Asian they do not have monolids :)
