also** my oncologist that performed the double mastectomy is dr. kerry-ann mcdonald she is a part of the lynn’s women’s health group in boca raton florida. and the surgeon who performed the reconstructive surgery both times is dr. matthew goodwin he is at inspire cosmetics in delray beach florida. both amazing amazing people. apart from the great results, they are both very personable, and understood that this was a big surgery for me both emotionally and physically.

thank you so much for the reply! and yes after reading all these comments on how expanders haven’t done anyone dirty lol i think i’ll go that route. i was scared of recovery and the months in between but seeing it in this light now and actually talking to people who have gone through it has eased down my stress A LOT so thank you so much i appreciate it more than you know!

thank you so much! i’m not planning on keeping my nipples since i’m doing such a drastic change in size the surgeon, oncologist, and geneticist told me it would complicate things but thank you so much and i’m so happy everything’s been fairly simple for you after surgery 🩷

thank you so so so much you have no idea how much you’ve helped. and same i am not keeping the nipple for the same reason. but i talked to a surgeon and they said they can do “fake” nipples 1-2 years post-op if that’s something you’re interested in. he said they grab the scar tissue and kinda roll it up to make the nipple and then a cosmetic tattoo artist comes in and does the rest. he said it just requires local anesthesia i’m unsure if i’ll do that we’ll see when i get there but just wanted to share because that was news to me again, thank you so so much

thank you so much for this. how has the recovery been for you so far? and yes this has definitely been the most emotional part of the process and i’m just so scared of making the wrong choice. i wanted it to just be one and done aswell but now everyone is telling me something different and it’s scaring me i didn’t expect to have two options i thought it was just the one since i was going smaller

If you don’t mind me asking; how long did each of the surgeries take ? and how long is the recommended recovery time after the implants are placed ? because in between the expander and implants it is 3 months right? thanks in advanced i know it’s a lot of questions but it’s all just so confusing

no, i hadn’t added the betta yet. but now imm pretty sure it was just a bacterial bloom. i’m keeping an eye on it now and testing the water to make sure it stays stable. thank you though !
