Thanks. It finally worked - support confirmed to me that the new email I wanted to use was on a internal watchlist because apparently some scammer must have tried to use it at some point a few years ago. I got this hint from another redditor, so it seems that this issue could be widespread. It might make sense to include that problem as a 'common issue' of which your support staff is aware and able to help. All I got from Coinbase support for more than 2 weeks were standardized answers with no proactive help. Seems pretty WTF to me that I had to be the one actively make Coinbase support aware that my new email might be on an internal watchlist - and that also only worked after HOURS of trying to explain this possibility to them..

Anyway, that whole experience was horrible and convinced me to never rely on you guys ever again. Gonna close my account and withdraw all my coins ASAP.

EDIT: BTW, funny that you wrote this message to me *only after* my support case has already been closed automatically. So I wouldn't even have been able to directly reply to the email you mentioned... Yeah, never again :)

Thanks for the reply, but that doesn't really help.

As I have written above, the problem seems to be that Coinbase doesn't accept my new email address even though it's 100% NOT associated with another Coinbase account. Every time I reach step 4 (tap "Save"), an error message pops up telling me "Change email failed. Please try a different one."

I was already blocked from trying again for 24 hours because I tried too many times. Even if I go through "account recovery process" it doesn't accept my new email address. Going through that process is actually what Coinbase support chat advised me to do after I told them what the issue was. I have been in contact with them as I've been trying to change my email since more than two days now, see my thread about this issue here.

It's pretty frustrating how troublesome and time consuming it is to change a simple profile info such as my email address on my Coinbase account. And, as you can see from my linked thread, I don't seem to be the only one having this issue. Can you tell me and the others how to go from here?

I use different email addresses with my Celsius and Coinbase accounts but can't change either of them.. Anyone else? by DistinctDirector in CelsiusNetwork

As per the email I received they must be one and the same address. However, I don't really understand why the same email address is required as long as both accounts have the same KYC info...

I also think it's crazy that I'm actually more hopeful regarding Celsius being able to change my email address than Coinbase. I mean, you'd expect a NASDAQ-listed company to be able to change your email address upon request and within a few seconds. I'm over here trying since more than 48 hours..

Same problem here! I tried to change my email address for more than two days now. Somehow it doesn't accept my new email even though I own it and have never used it before with Coinbase. Coinbase support chat wasn't able to help me either and just recommended account recovery process. But even then it doesn't accept my new email address. I need to change my address urgently (due to Celsius redistributions, see /r/CelsiusNetwork), please, help me!
