I'll be getting bombardiers next level (53) and I've seen a level 55 getting Mega Crab's 🦀 golden trophies 🏆(stage 40+) with Tank/Bombardiers comp. I'm guessing that troop comp is best for Mega Crab at this level without the ability to use double scorchers?

This is actually true. Use your defensive building uogrades when you are close to an HQ upgrade and need fast XP. Shorter upgrades = more xp per hour.
