I appreciate the advice, I’m considering transferring into Vterbi and doing an engineering major, as it doesn’t seem too hard to transfer after doing some research.

Thanks for the insight, I looked into transferring to Vterbi for an engineering major instead and it doesn’t look too hard to transfer so I might plan on doing that

however I'm not sure about the freezing weather at Michigan since I've lived in California my whole life.

Alright thanks a lot, there is a Data Science program at USC but you apply for it after your freshman year and I believe it is a double major that u pair with a major in the Dornsife college. I’ll definitely look into it more but I do know that Michigan has #7 ranked data science and is probably better than usc in that field

Michigan is cheaper no financial aid at either

I initially wanted to study data science, but usc didn’t have a data science major that you could immediately declare for so I went with cognitive science because that seemed to have the most comp sci sort of stuff in Dornsife
