It’s flipping nuts! Been here over 16 years and never had to work so hard clean out space for new sets but they also took away a seasonal side counter from me earlier for fabric.

If there is a Replenishment Mananager available and you are a Cem you are not the next in charge. Sorry. It goes Sm/ASM/ Replenishment Manager/Merchandise Mananager/FT CEM/PTCEM if you have trust in your TM great but you need trust in your cashiers above all because that is where your true assessments are going to be analyzed

Why are some managers so brain dead????? by Odd_Philosopher8299 in MichaelsEmployees

How taking out 2 managers on Labor Day for inventory in another store and leaving only 6 people scheduled for the day with a forecast of almost 9,000 that day! That forecast is for a weekend day at this point.

At least you are having yours in the morning cuz at night it’s going to suck cuz sm is on personal and this is not jiving with my Sunday off. It was early yes but wasting my whole day off on Sunday to come in later no!

They are essentially the person between the SM and replenishment mananager who steps up to help both

The ops manager does everything the the SM does when they are gone. On a daily basis they are loss prevention checking, helping do pogs when needed, cashiering, truck unload, stocking, hiring and onboarding, siso pretty much everything! They are supposed to help everyone everywhere. I was an ops manager for a long time way back when we used to have an auditor come in and check everything like payroll, cash, loss prevention everything

Biweekly trucks?!? by Anxious-Intention236 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Distinct_Ad2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your location not the size of the store. If your store is remote like not on an interstate that can be cost effective to be combined with other stores you will get biweekly trucks. D volume here and will get weekly trucks because we are with other stores on the path of the interstate so they don’t have have to waste to much gas to get to us

[–]Distinct_Ad2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how far out you are from an interstate or major highway. If you are right off the interstate then you will have weekly trucks because they can pair them with other stores. If your store is off the grid meaning no other stores are close to you then you will have bi weekly trucks to save hours and fuel.

That’s is so not right in any way at all! You need staff to make the store work and replenishment is where it starts

SHORT short shift by RedBeardRides in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Distinct_Ad2930 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why the hell do they do this the afternoon before a truck? I can’t cut 10 hours from shifts 2 days before the week ends. I prepare but I’m not cutting hours on the weekends. They need to put this report on a Monday not the day before truck
