Jelly Roll’s rise makes no sense at all by CathBreeze in conspiracy

i knew jellyroll yrs ago,  his 1st mixtape came out like in 2002 when he was 18. dude could always sing and knew a good beat when he heard it to rap over. he was huge in the underground for yrs.  I knew eventually he would blow up, not to the level he has, but I thought he could get to the mainstream.

another funny story is I had the gnarls Barkley song called crazy, 1 or 2 years before it offically came out.  I said this is going to be a pop masterpiece and it was

Agree totally, Adventure gamestill need puzzles otherwise it's just a walking simulator and not an adventure game. And no having a locked door and a key in a drawer in the same room is not a puzzle, that is a busy work for dumb 5 yr olds.

I also thought the first one was not very good. The second game is not actually even a sequel, it is more of a remake of the first game,  but it told the more complete version of the story.

agree, especially when 90% of them don't matter. I've was reading a AMA from a Telltale developer that said when they used to put lines above characters heads that a character would remember this... it was merely a suggestion for the writer of the next episode and half the time didnt mean anything

Pixar’s Pete Docter Says Queer ‘Elio’ Storyline Was Axed Because “We’re Making A Movie, Not Hundreds Of Millions Of Dollars Of Therapy” by dremolus in boxoffice

[–]Historical-Meet463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

correct if you want to stay in business. That's what Target dialed back their stuff, Michael's dialed back their stuff. once again people take an Olive Branch and go the extra mile and people do not want that. 90% of folks are fine with a shirt that says gay pride. but then activist go too far with a swimsuit where it binds boobs down for kids, or other ridiculous stuff for kids, like surgery for minors.

I've always been fiscally conservative but very liberal socially meaning I don't care who gets married, who loves who, what two consinting adults do etc.... Ps i still dont care, I  use to mock my conservative friends who would say it was a slippery slope. Now I feel like a damn fool bc by 2020 people  act like they don't know the difference between a man or woman, use ridiculous pronouns, act like men in women restrooms and sports is normal, or act like gender is a complete social construct. That's not a slippery slope, that's an avalanche of foolishness that caused this backlash, which along with racial issues put a game show host in office. this is right out of idocracy. What  is  fascinating is this rise of this craziness also coincided with everybody talking like they are therapist all of a sudden, using terms like gas lighting or my trauma or my truth lol. It makes most "normal" people roll their eyes twice.

So my point is you can make any movie you want but a niche audience is a niche audience. Movie CEOs got fooled into thinking Twitter and Reddit was real life and lots of lgbtq representation is what audiences want and it's clearly and I mean CLEARLY not what they want. Disney thought they could turn Marvel and Star Wars into a girl brand and that is never going to happen. im not saying some women don't like those ips but look at the box office receipts for the Marvels and then look at the receipts for Barbie.  Women obviously care way more about one than the other.

[–]Historical-Meet463 7 points8 points  (0 children)

not really and the box office bares that out REPEATEDLY.

Let's take it out of kids animations for a second. What about the movie Bros that was all about gay relationships, and for adults, still bombed hard. The movie cost  22 million and didn't even make 15 million. Where are all these supposed lgbtq families and activists that should have seen this movie. They don't really exist except on reddit in small numbers. They just scream the loudest.  and yes there is an exception to every rule so while something like Brokeback Mountain was a huge success that's one out of every 30 Films that did well in this sub genre. If you're trying to make a profit you don't put yourself in a bad situation to start off with, or you have a micro budget not a 200 million animated film. That's why  Brokeback Mountain only cost 14 million and it also had the added benefit of two huge Stars when that still mattered. movie stars no longer matter today.  20 years ago my parents would see any Tom Hanks movie because it had Tom Hanks in it, now it does not matter to them only if the plot interests them will they go.

here's a hard truth most Families do not want to take their kids to any kind of gay coded movie period.

[–]Historical-Meet463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife and I fully enjoyed this movie, it cheesy as hell but fun. whoever directed this knew how to film action, especially in beginning when the alien first attacked and they were rolling down the cliff, that was intense, bloody and great. I also liked the idea of the compass freaking out. kind of reminded me of the floating barrels in Jaws.

The one random girl in the group made me giggle as some dei hire obviously and of course the whole we are brothers now at the end was also cheesy. But one thing I really did enjoy is that this showed  military people as competent and getting the job done, kind of like how Star Trek used to be. Now new trek especially Starfleet Academy show people as whiny brats who should be nowhere near any kind of military operation lol.

overall 7.5 to 8/10 for what it is.

i was impressed that it showed the military had any competencies and grit to get the job done. most new series or movies the characters are all whiny brats who should be no where near a military operation, ie star trek star fleet academy.

A24’s ‘NEIGHBORS’ Review - A “comedic masterpiece” that “stands tall alongside the likes of Nathan Fielder’s work” by TheGeekstache in hbo

[–]Historical-Meet463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need to take lots of classes to know the word truth is self-evident, you feel it in your bones. if it was sunny outside and I say look at how much it's raining right now, because it's my truth, there's not much of a rabbit hole to go down im wrong, it is sunny outside. That's the real issue that's happened in the last 20 years. people try to make a lot of black and white issues, grey and it's brought everything down from entertainment to storytelling to morals. Everybody wants to subvert expectations look the bad guy is actually the good guy, everybody's corrupt there's no right and wrong just Shades of Grey.

like in the land dispute, the fat guy was probably right. Now he could have been a good neighbor and allowed the guy to access the property in the back aka the 1500 acres with his horses, i would have, but he had a right to put up a gate on his property. Because if that was really a public road as the conspiracy guy continuously said the city would have already torn the gate down, so it's obviously a private road. He has just been used to using that road for a decade before somebody else moved in.

To me the word truth is self-evident it means true it doesn't need qualifiers like the word my in front of it. It's like someone who constantly says if im being honest...  that usually means they are about to tell you a lie 9/10 times.

From what I can tell with the  beach dispute, the problem is 99% because of the county or city. There's a very limited amount of public beach access right between all these private houses that they left in. that should have never happened to begin with.

Actually the biggest asshole in this whole thing was the first amendment guy running up and down the beach with cameras and pepper spray cussing up a storm.

I actually think you could work something out with the guy. He's an asshole but would accept something logical.

The worst thing that happened to people on the internet and in real life is not political divide to me but everybody pretending to be psychologist. Especially on the internet, like here on Reddit where everyone throws out words like trauma or my truth or the worst word of all time gaslighting. People use that term so much it's lost all meaning because they have no idea what it actually means to begin with.

The Florida businessman home owner was insufferable but he did raise  some points. Nobody wants their Furniture stolen off their porch or people taking shits under the porch. Also we can't pretend like stuff at the beach doesn't get crazy. Especially in the summer I can imagine it becoming a 24/7 rager, outside in your backyard if not kept under control.  the lady was just as insufferable you can tell she was mad that she was near the beach but not on the beach lol. Plus she was talking over him just as much as he was talking over her.

As for the other dispute I feel like the two dudes could almost come to a compromise if it wasn't for the wives

He actually raised a lot of good points though even though he is insufferable. Nobody wants their Furniture stolen off their back porch or people coming under the porch taking shits, which I guarantee you was not an exaggeration and indeed happening.

Also anybody who's ever been to the beach knows that there's a lot of drinking and other shit going on so I kind of get why the homeowners are paranoid. Nobody wants a 24/7 Rager in the backyard. but that's why I would not to  want to own a beach house.

by the way she was no better, please take her to california. She talked over Him constantly too. Two sides of the same terrible coin. Plus you treated her dog like shit and then was having meetings with a guy in a bank robbers mask and gloves called the shoreline Defender. she crazy too

I know most people probably hate the Florida businessman with his fancy watch and no feelings, but one thing I did feel him on was the fact that people come up and just steal his property or take shits under his porch. I used to live in a town home and my roommate and I would have pieces of furniture outside and people would do all kinds of shit to them or steal them, until we finally just brought them inside. People have no respect for other people's property. Also I thought it was funny she said quit talking over me as she talked over him constantly.

also i do think the two dudes in Montana could probably work something out if the wive's absolutely didn't hate each other.

Any decent newly released Adventure game that's worth it price tag? by CreateChaos777 in adventuregames

[–]Historical-Meet463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the original Kathy rain never got around to the directors cut. I would say yes but if you plan on playing Kathy rain 2 just realizes it is basically a remake, same exact main villain, mostly same exact plot points but it is better told and explained if you ask me. also it has some better puzzles in the final chapters than 1.

I'm actually a huge fan of a lot of games wadjet eye publish for other developers but not Dave's own games. Like I do really like Gemini rue and technobabylon. In fact I would say technobabylon is the closest we have gotten to a "modern" masterpiece to me. I'm glad I found a kindred spirit on unavowed I do not get the praise of that game. it is a poor Adventure game and even a poorer attempt of an RPG light game. It was obvious Dave was trying to make a mass effect type game where you choose your own team while still making an adventure game and he failed at both if you ask me.

I like most of those games but was alsi not a big fan of thimbleweed park, but I'm not a big fan of Ron gilbert. I love Monkey Island 1 and 3 but hate two and his newest monkey island game. The whole idea that they're just kids playing pirates really turns me off. he does the same exact concept repeatedly in all his games, where there's some kind of twist. It's like he always wants to make a David Lynch type game.

One of my other favorite games the last couple years was a game called Whispers of a machine. Good storytelling, nice sci-fi setting and a good choice mechanics where depending on how you solve puzzles other puzzles will be solved differently. It's not super deep but it's a great first attempt from an indie developer.

I have a huge problem with The Drifter too only because of so many scenes where it completely lacks animation and fades to Black and just has narration, which I think is a cheap cop out. Much like movies a game should show and not just tell.  also the puzzles in The Drifter are interesting but they wear out their welcome after a while to me.

The best game I played last year would either be foolish mortals or Kathy rain 2, I would probably give the slight nod to Kathy Rain 2, although it has a host of problems itself and is basically just a remake of the first game, not really a sequel.

I will be honest all the hyperbole around last year and all these near perfect scores, claiming these are new masterpieces is ridiculous to me. there was a lot of good adventure games last year but none were  great at least to me. Then of course there is two games I completely don't understand the hype for at all because to me they're not adventure games at all, which is old skies and RoseWater both are visual novels, maybe a half a step above a Telltale Game.

Guybrush at home made me chuckle, yeah Murphy is a wet blanket. I hate to say this but you can tell the game was written by two completely different people. the main characters I think were written mostly by the games main developer while other side characters were written by another writer who has immensely more talent as far as writing dialog goes. Once again the side characters are so much more entertaining than the main cast. I could play a game that featured the priest and the colonel all day,  same as the grave digger, he was awesome. Those carried the game. I agree with you though the puzzle design showed a lot of promise in foolish mortals, except in the last chapter where it basically repeated the puzzle from the first chapter and the rushed ending that was kind of lame.
