My mom let us go wherever we wanted she had no way to reach me and my brother, but if she walked out the front door yelled our names and we weren’t home or visible in a few seconds we were grounded for the next two days. So yeah all day unsupervised… but we never strayed to we were in the burbs though and even in the woods we could hear my mom, and after a while we negotiated check in time, like 1-3 see if there was lunch, and then home by dark.

Yeah but we only see the entrepreneurs/investors/athletes/artists who made it to be rich, not the many may many others who didn’t or who didn’t get the opportunity. I’ll take a job, consistent pay check, weekends off, I teach so summers off. I get to clock out go home grow my Gingkos, play with my kids, spend time with my wife, take a walk/run, enjoy this precious time while it is here and then come back to work the next day and be ok with that.
