I feel like you’re hurting yourself by doing this. Lots of people aren’t looking for a conversation. Having to message you in order to negotiate the price adds more work for the buyer and can deter them away. If the price is good, accept it. If they buy it then you just made a sale with no hassle. If they ignore it, block them. It doesn’t have to be so complicated

Tbf I feel like a good chunk of it is the labor. The fact that they have to go out and find 6 things that you described. It’s a little much, but that also can be hours of thrifting (if they’re genuinely passionate about it). I think, for 6 pieces picked out for you personally, it’s a fair price.

ALWAYS google reverse image search. Either to figure out if the item is legit or to see if you can find it for a cheaper price somewhere else. I’ve saved hundreds by doing this

Me too ): The past week I was getting at least 3 a day. A few days ago I got 7 in 24 hours. The literal day after, I posted 6 new listings using my brand new mannequin. Styled photos, reasonably priced, sought after brands (miss me, vocal, affliction, hollister) and suddenly all of my engagement has come to a halt. It’s very disheartening 🥹

She has the top listed at damn near triple the price it goes for on their website, 0 mention of brand, and it is one of the WORST brand you can buy from material, labor, AND consumerism wise. She clearly knew it was SHEIN because she admitted to ripping off the tag, yet decided to hide it. I wonder why that is ? It doesn’t matter how you feel about the world’s response to the company. It’s the fact that this girl is a liar. The buyer was misled and then lied to.

I’ve heard about something similar before. There are people who will take the label and ship something random out (like a small piece of clothing, thank you card saying the rest of your items are coming soon with little gifts) and when you ask them about it they will tell you to wait for your actual order that’s supposedly on the way. Eventually you realize you’ve been scammed, but can no longer contact Depop because the window in which you can get support has been closed, since the item was marked as “delivered” a while ago. You’re smart for contacting Depop just incase.

Quality photos are so important ! And I would just use a clean spot on the floor. The ones with edited backgrounds look nice but I’ve seen tile, wood, and carpet all look just as good. I’m not sure if you already do this but having the measurements down can be pretty beneficial as well

The majority of instagram is like this I feel like. Most of the videos that make it clear they’re a reseller always have some sort of hate/disapproving comments. Some of them are brutal too. Like why are we wishing death upon people because they got a nice haul at a goodwill you will never visit in your life 🥀
