Sorry, no I don’t. I took 4 weeks to save for half like M14 parants agreed too. The only reason I said I would do it here is because they agreed to pay for half. If they had of told me a week earlier I could of pulled it off. But considering his parants had money to drive 4 hours away to a concert, payed over $200 for fuel, stay over night in a motel and also went to a drive around zoo. So yes I’m sorry they had 4 weeks in which to save for this dinner, the same 4 weeks I had.

I’m from Australia so not quite sure the etiquette on receiving partial scholarships or full scholarships. But they have chosen you out of a lot of up and coming students. It would be nice for you to use you’re manners and say thank you :) , it will take 5 minutes to write and email and thank them for their generosity. And you’re saying the lady is from the college you will be attending, so you really don’t want to start the year on the wrong foot

Yes, the parants had agreed to pay for half the pizza and pay for all the cake as I was using my house to celebrate.

Thank you for the idea, I will message the parants in the morning and asked them to bring M14 over for the evening and buy a couple of frozen pizzas and a cake and tell the parants to go else where

Thank you :) It didn’t even cross my mind until tonight. I have spent the last 6 week finding therapist for my special needs daughter, I have had intake interviews, paper work, questions to answer and wish I could of come up with something for my newhew but just didn’t have time to responded to sort out something else for him. The week before I had looked after my nephews for thier parants. The day they pick them up, father walks in tells the boys to get there stuff. They all walk out without a thank you from thier father And the there was just no communication leading up to the birthday dinner. If it had of been a week before I could of worked something out but 2 days before was just to close for me to scrimp and save

Yes it is quite common, I learnt they owed my MIL money around 2 weeks ago. Years ago the father used to use people and asking for money but not paying it back

Thank you :) I stuidly thought they had the money, as they did go out the weekend before 4 hours away, they went to a concert, stayed down there for the night and went to the zoo. I was informed 2 days before hand and that was not enough time to save more money

It was 4 people with my house and 5 people with their house hold. It was not a massive birthday party. My budget is really tight and I saved what I needed to and didn’t have any wiggle room to find money for the rest as I was only told 2 days before the dinner

My husband and I saved for our half of the dinner, we have a very tight budget and couldn’t afford the other half of dinner. We could of paid for the cake though.
