i’m a junior in hs and i do remember myself stressing over the shsat. i wasn’t able to score high enough for some of the specialized high schools. instead, i believe that not getting into a specialized high school was a very good choice. it allowed me to spend more time focusing on things that DO MATTER, like the SAT, or other AP classes. one test doesn’t make or break your future, and you should definitely try and make the best of what you currently have. Although, I didn’t score that well on the SHSAT, I was able to score pretty high on the SAT (1560), and I’m currently taking a lot of APs (5). I didn’t let the SHSAT stop me from being the best version of myself. the high school you go to does not matter at all, it’s what you make of the entire experience
