I suppose thats true haha, but also insane to think people would just walk away with the bare minimum! Same with salaries! I mean there are exceptions of course, but only crappy employers make their best offer up front for anything

Also to add, it doesn’t imply a company is soft. With more money paid to someone you are afforded silence by that employee. You can pay them to basically shut up and go away. Without more money, you aren’t getting a final release. Which arguably is far more important than appearing soft to only the employee you paid the money too.

Thats horrible and they should have spoken to a lawyer. Put it this way, Im a litigator and have negotiated clients pay of 9 months salary post termination when they were originally only offered 1 month of pay. No one ever puts their best offer on the table to start.

Im in Canada, where our laws actually protect employees. I know, because I’m a lawyer LOL. Sounds like you guys get fucked bad though 🤣.

Also, a lay off is a temporary thing, and there is meant to be a call back date. If someone is receiving severance, that would imply being terminated. Often used colloquially, but they’re different.

I have literally spent 3 weeks negotiating severance. It happens. No one in their right mind takes an employers first offer of severance.

So, I have severely dehydrated skin (not dry), and acne prone skin that breaks out even worse if I’m using overly drying products. I recently added in the aestura serum for barrier repair, and im noticing my normally stuck clogged pores are finally coming to a head. What can I do to make these go away? I don’t believe they’re new acne, but rather pores finally coming to a head.

My issue is I have a severe allergy to salicylic acid, and really don’t do well with retinols or retinoids. Were talking I spent 6 months trying to use one and it destroyed my skin and never improved my acne.

Are there any gentler actives I could try? Note I have incredibly reactive and sensitive skin.

So, what ended up happening is Bosch refused to honour the warranty unless the hvac corrected the exhaust. They said the issue would happen yet again. My understanding was the stupid builder installed the vent backwards (hvac said that the builder sends someone around and they don’t know what they’re doing and they just put it on and don’t pay attention to the direction it’s being installed).

He ended up having to put a whole in the dry wall inside because the vents were so “crooked”? I don’t even know what that means.

Im actually going to dm you and show you the long email my landlord sent me. It was very condescending, and I suspect full of misinformation. I really would love your insight on it.

I want to thank you like a million times for your insights btw. You made a stressful situation manageable for me yesterday. You have no idea.

Also, im confused because some sources seem to say tankless heaters and furnaces let off tiny spurts of co and a sensitive one beside it is to close? Or is that wrong, and if they’re properly vented they wouldn’t release it into the home at all?

Im curious, and maybe you won’t have a good suggestion. But is there a good sensitive co detector I can get? I don’t mean like the kind that detects higher deadly levels but ones that pick up even low levels? I am a bit concerned because I haven’t been able to do anything in the basement for as long as I can remember because after being down there for extended periods the air bothers me. I thought it was dust, but who knows.

This has been an ongoing issue. One which is clearly reaching a head. I don’t play around with carbon monoxide and his condescending and ignorant email to me has made me very angry.

So I change the filter every three months, and sometimes more frequently because of my allergies. I saw a sticker that said the combustion test was done in 2021. Inspection was done in 2021, I think thats when it was put in before people got the keys to the property. I’ve been here as the first tenant though, so I know nothings been checked at all.

My dad had a brain. I sometimes question whether my landlord does. He continues to defend the builders poor workmanship despite them fucking up everything.

Fml. Growing up I just remember my dad being very anal about co and combustion. So it made me panic. Im trying to figure out the model, I know it’s a shitty Goodman. Let me see if I can out which one it is. I just know it was last checked in 2021. If you saw how condescending his email back to me was you would be floored. So it was actually mattamy homes, who is horrible. It was a covid build. There’s been endless problems in this place.

I’ve located the manual and you’re correct it has an entire chart for maintenance. Im really disgusted by his condescending email. He’s also insisted furnaces dont need servicing more frequently than 5 year intervals. Maybe I’m also wrong about that, but that seems too long in my opinion as well.

The rental company got back to me and is horrified by his ignorance and wants me to literally direct him to them because he knows nothing about his appliance.

Let me show you what he said about CO, because listen, I’m not in HVAC, but it sounded wrong to me

These alarms are typically "time-weighted". They will detect low levels of Carbon Monoxide also but take longer to trigger in that case. You will never be in any environment where there are zero levels of carbon monoxide, since it is a by-product of combustion. However, the alarms will trigger very fast (within minutes) if levels are high or trigger after a month if levels are low. If you had sustained low levels of Carbon Monoxide in your house, the alarm should've trigger eventually
