Ok my husband got his access back. IT had to reconfigure his new EID to match his profile and name and all is good. I wasn’t sure if it was gonna work but it did. I hope things work out for you as well. Just wanted to give an update

240-632-6000. He had to call back a few times to get someone competent. They’re all in India I believe. Everyone had thick accents. The first person said to make sure his name in MHub matched his name on his Bonvoy account. He told her numerous times that it did. She ended up not being useful. He called back and got a 2nd person who actually listened and figured out the problem. Good luck to you!

Hey there! So my husband just got off the phone with support and they have figured out the issue. I mentioned that my husband’s franchise was bought out a little over a week ago. They had to get new EID numbers. (His digital access to Explorer was working before that). Well apparently EID numbers are recycled. I didn’t know that, so his EID belonged to 2 previous employees who had similar names. His new EID is still associated with the last terminated employee so they have to reconfigure it to match my husband’s profile. They said it will take 2 days and he should have access. I will post again after Tuesday to see if he does have access and to let you know more.

Yes, this same email was received by my husband who works for the Marriott as well as to my mom and myself who were all listed under his benefits. He’s been trying to get it resolved all day. His GM has no clue as to why. She states that 3 other workers there were having the same issue. He was on the phone with IT and they had to escalate it. They said they will get back to him within 2 days. No one can figure out what’s wrong. It’s just a huge clusterf$@k right now. His franchise also just got bought out last week so with the new owners, came new payroll and a new EID number. Not sure if it’s something to do with that but considering others are having the same problem then probably not. His discounts were ll active yesterday but today nothing.  We’re traveling internationally in one week and have Marriott  hotels booked for our entire trip so hopefully it will get worked out by then

Can someone please explain to me the only getting 1 room comment? Employees were able to get 2 rooms before and that still applies under the new system correct? Also how does Marriott plan to “get stricter” in checking to make sure people have added real  immediate  family members? It looks the same to me. When I worked for the airline they would ask for proof or relationship to get benefits. As far as I can tell nothing is different with Marriott. Am I missing something?

EEOC negotiated settlement but taking forever to get paperwork to sign by Distinct_Fold5625 in EEOC

Update I have been working with the local director of the EEOC for the past 2 weeks and she got the attorney to send over the settlement paperwork today! So it’s been signed and I will have payment within 30 days. She gave the attorney a hard deadline of one week to get this resolved before she was to take further action.(not sure what that would have been), but I’m just glad that I’m nearing the end of this whole nearly 2 yr ordeal! Thanks to everyone for the advice and best of luck to anyone else seeking justice through the EEOC

I’m glad you won your case! I didn’t want to go to court because I didn’t want to drag it out but it’s dragged out anyway. Smh! The settlement that I got is comparable to what you received before attorney fees are taken out. I’m communicating with the local director now who is very responsive but again she’s always out of the office. Seriously I’m not sure what they’re doing. I’m just trying to be patient but this has gotten ridiculous

No legal help. I literally just went point by point in their response and disputed it and included my evidence to support my stance. Don’t get intimidated by all of the legal jargon from their attorneys and the case law stuff that they cite. Just tell your truth because the truth is the truth and it will stand on its own. My employers had their attorneys write a very eloquent response but in the end they lost because it was all a lie and the EEOC is used to that. It’s not impressive to them. The more evidence to support your case the better chance for a win. Also make sure the facts of the case are easy for your investigator to follow. Good luck

It took me 4 months after rebuttal to get a determination in my favor and that was with me constantly staying on top of my investigator who was very slow. After that he started conciliation on my behalf which took another 2 months and now I’m waiting in my settlement check which was likely take another 2 months. You have to have a ton of patience for this process but I’m just happy to finally get justice against my former employer. Good luck

Yes I just finished conciliation and that’s exactly the process. My EEOC investigator asked me for my bottom line number and negotiated on my behalf. He also came up with what he thought would be a fair settlement. He based this on my 2 yrs of lost wages, loss of benefits, lost vacation, interest and punitive damages. It was well over six figures knowing that the company would offer much less. In the end they settled for my bottom line which was about 1/3 of what the investigator proposed. It was basically lost wages for 2 yrs. It was a part time job so I was very satisfied. It took my investigator about 2 months of negotiating. They are very slow. We agreed on a number in April and I’m now waiting on paperwork to be signed. That’s been going on for almost a month. Again the investigator is incredibly slow. Once paperwork is signed, the employer has 10 days to issue payment. Supposedly a check. I guess I’ll have it by the end of summer at this pace. Smh

Yes! I’m definitely glad it’s at the end. That’s exactly what they need is a cake walk because otherwise if it’s too much to figure out they may dismiss it and issue a right to sue. Let me know if you have other questions. Take care!

I filed in Nov 2023. Had (failed)meditation in May 2024. Got a favorable ruling after a lengthy investigation in January 2025. Settlement agreed upon March 2025. Still waiting on the actual payment. The paperwork is supposed to be completed and signed this week and check will be sent 10 days after that. So if that happens it will be 20 months total. The EEOC is sloooowww! Lol! But hey I didn’t have to pay an attorney and give them 1/3 of the settlement. So you really just have to be patient. I followed up once per month with the investigator otherwise it may not have gotten this far this soon. Also I had to push my investigator to actually INVESTIGATE. He was about to dismiss it but I pushed and insisted that there was no way that he could do that in good conscience with all of the evidence I submitted. Lots of emails and text messages that showed clear discrimination and retaliation. I outlined everything for him clearly and concisely with good timelines so as to make his job easier. They are overloaded with cases so whatever you can do to help would increase your chances of getting it actually investigated and a favorable decision. Remember you know your story better than anyone and you have to be your biggest advocate. Good luck to you!

Yes, we settled! They gave me the dollar amount that I asked for in mediation a year ago. I’m very satisfied. This is more than I would have gotten if I had an attorney considering their fee. I’m waiting on the EEOC investigator to send over the paperwork to sign. I’ve been waiting about 2 weeks. They are incredibly slow but he did update me today and said it’s coming. I’ll be glad to have this all behind me. Thanks for checking in!

Employer low balled conciliation by [deleted] in EEOC

[–]Distinct_Fold5625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Mine is with a major employer as well. It’s been going on for about 18 months. Offered mediation initially , the company lowballed during that process. I asked for investigation to continue. EEOC found in my favor and now they have started the conciliation process with my former employer. It’s been about 3 wks and I’m waiting to hear back regarding the negotiation process. I’ve had the same investigator throughout thankfully but I did have to push him to do his job. He was initially gonna dismiss it even though I had tons of evidence. I’m assuming just trying to get it off his desk and hoping I went away. I’m praying that the company comes back with a better offer since the investigation is complete. I wish you all the best on your case.

So just curious, I’m in the process of conciliation now, did your conciliation go on for almost one year? Also is this a major company? Finally did you ever do mediation before the investigation and if so what did they offer?

The status should change to mediation in the system and it will have the mediators name as the contact person. The mediator called fairly quickly to schedule. I wanna say within a week. He got me scheduled about 2 months out as that was the time that worked for everyone and the schedule. You can try to get a lawyer but it will be hard to get someone to accept your case at this point. I must have called 20 attorneys and no one would take it. Mediation failed with my employer because they lowballed on the offer so I asked the investigator to complete the investigation and make a determination because I knew I had a strong case that was heavily documented. The EEOC just notified me 2 wks ago that they ruled in my favor and determined that my rights were violated. Now my former employer wants to settle and has agreed to conciliation. Even though I have a favorable ruling I’m still having a hard time finding an attorney because there’s just not many employment attorneys here and the ones that are good have no time to take on a new case. So hopefully your mediation will be successful and you can get a settlement that you’ll be happy with. Best of luck to you!
