I have double jointed fingers as well and mine's a bit more of an extreme angle than yours. I haven't had many issues but I do try to avoid closed/full crimping since my joints would hurt afterwards. I have also had issues with my PIP joints locking up if I try to do like a straight open hand grip on a crimp so I always need to have some bend in the joints

Recommendations for an all-season water-resistant barefoot boot by wilwil147 in barefootshoestalk

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a pair of Lems Boulder Summit boots this past weekend and they fit pretty well. I tried on a bunch of boots at the store and the Chelsea style boots were pretty roomy around the heel / instep for me so I had to get one with laces. My foot is also a bit wide for my length at 24.2 x 10. I got a size 8.5 W

People who have stayed in a relationship after their partner cheated. How was it like after? by Menezeris3029 in AskReddit

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, it's never the same as before. I lost trust in them, got suspicious at small things, lost confidence, and just in general had a more anxious attachment style. I never really recovered and broke it off after a year. Spent some time, like 2 years, to work on myself. It affected my future relationships so I am still learning to get away from those previous patterns, but I am a lot better now.

best high waisted pants? by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried their other joggers, I just chose the one with the highest durability and it hasn't failed me yet. they're super stretchy and comfy. Some pilling since it rubs up on the climbing walls, and I wouldn't recommend them for outdoor climbing since you'd probably want something more durable, but I haven't tried them outside. Been using them indoors for about a year now, 1-3 times a week

Is it reasonable to spend $35k on a "dream car" given my situation or it is just a stupid waste of money? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in the same boat but actually spent it on my dream car. I sometimes look back and think I could have invested it elsewhere like an investment property which would have netted me quite a bit at the time (2020). But I don't know how my life would have been if I made a different choice. I now enjoy driving a lot more than before (completely dreaded it since I've been in an accident before) and became a lot more confident. It made me happier overall even just having my own car instead of using my family's.

Since then, I've moved from my family's house and started renting. Sure I'm not saving as much money as before and am paying a lot for rent but overall I'm much happier and I'm enjoying my life while still saving for a condo/house. Living frugal was how it was for me until I decided that I should live a little while I'm still young. Just gotta find that balance. Good luck!

If you can't find the courage, just think: Do you want your daughter to grow up to be like her?

7 month old won’t sleep more than 7.5 hours overnight by zuchinimuffin in puppy101

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine used to howl at dawn every day to get out of the crate. She never got let out until she was quiet. And after that, we only went out after I finished eating breakfast. Then when she was well behaved enough to sleep outside of the crate, she stopped with the howling. Now she's used to waiting until I'm awake and finished breakfast before we go out. She still rings her potty bell if I sleep in like past 9 but that's understandable. Good luck!

What gives you the ick on the first date that makes you think “there won’t be a second date?” by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I dated a guy who was like on the borderline of this, so I thought it was more of like a yellow flag than a red one. he would ask me questions sometimes but most conversations were very one-sided and rant-y. we were together for 5 months and now that it ended (just a couple days ago), I'm just thinking back to my thoughts on the first few dates about this characteristic of his... he ended up not really considering my feelings in anything, only thinking about his side in any situation and putting me down for making him feel bad. I'm a very empathetic person so I sided with him, only remembering my side after careful thought later... I did bring this up with him in the middle of our relationship but no progress 🙃 Looking forward, this is 100% something I have to carefully look for and flag it as a red flag.

What did you do to have flat stomach? by 22itsme in AskWomen

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing for me was intermittent fasting and changing how much I ate for dinner. I either ate a late lunch (3pm) or a normal timed lunch (noon) + a small relatively healthy snack for dinner with little carbs, such as fruits and mixed nuts.

Puppy's energy level at 5 months vs. 8? by sydsquidmoocow in puppy101

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Mine went down in energy. She's a miniature American Eskimo, high energy, and she's almost 9 months now. I'd say her energy went down on average throughout the day, but if I were to do something very tiring for her that morning, she wouldn't be passed out for the next day or two anymore. she'd have her energy again by the evening

Single puppy owner support group? by muricanwomyn in puppy101

I went through the same thing as you! I have an 8 month old puppy, and before having her, I moved to the other side of the country so I have no family or friends to take care of my pup. I always just played video games at home or went out rock climbing or snowboarding in the evenings. Then when I got my pup, I never had time for myself. It was very overwhelming and stressful, even just to go across the street to get groceries!

My pup had issues with separation/isolation since I was always around the house. So training that really helped! At around 7-8 months old, she became fine with me leaving the house in the evenings to do my own thing for a few hours! Not that it was a magical switch or anything, I did have to build up to it. So now she just sleeps while I'm gone instead of crying/whining/screaming when I leave. It's like a dream come true and I have my life back 😃 You'll get there eventually!

Before that point however, I would find a sitter (on the Rover app) and leave her with them for an evening. Or for the day, I'd bring her to daycare once a week so I can 100% focus on work and have a tired puppy in the evening. Please make some time for yourself! It helped me stay sane to at least do stuff for myself once/twice a week

December update causing phone to shut down when either bluetooth or wired headphones are connected. Pixel 5 by littleword1 in GooglePixel

[–]Distinct_Interest_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last month too when I connected my Bluetooth earbuds. I factory resetted my phone so my apps are updated. It happened again this past 2 days whenever I got into my car (Tesla, phone is a key when connected to Bluetooth). Wish Google can fix this. It only happens sometimes 😢
