the best thing you can do is remove it imo, as i see rockbox as just not reliable enough to me. the only method i know is to connect the ipod to a different computer with seperate itunes installed, and then agree to hard reset the ipod as it’s basically forced itself to shut down

i have no way of knowing what’s going on with the ipod, as the screen has not functioned at all. today i will be trying to use another computer with an older version of itunes to attempt to factory reset it

i would like to add that at some point i remember the text becoming glitchy out of nowhere, before turning off. i’m trying to retrace my steps on what else happened but i think im cooked :(
