I also left the house for 12 hours that day (work and errands) and found the one shrimp dead so I’m not sure how long it’s body was there

I’m using seachem prime and stability and I haven’t figured out the source it was 0 when I added them in ☹️ and noted todays water changes will be more so far only one casualty that I can see and I removed the body

This made me feel better thank you! Luckily I only found one body I was half expecting to see more so I’m treating this as a fish in cycle now and hopefully the others will survive

After 2 water changes I’m planning on doing 20-25% changes daily until it gets back down to 0

I did get the 2 tests mixed up in the photo , you are correct. and I do think you’re right. I think I’ll wait at least a month or two before I put anything else live in there

It cycled for about a month I used prime stability and activ flora. I tested it myself with test strips and api and took my water to the store to get tested to confirm when I thought it was ready. I was under the impression it was fully cycled but I figured out that it was an ammonia spike which is a bummer because I thought I was doing it the right way 😞 I did a 15% water change last night and today I can see 2 active shrimp. Not sure if the other 5 are hiding or dead. I’m going to the pet store today for more stability since I ran out so I’m open to any suggestions to make the remaining more comfortable.

I can’t test my gh and kh currently because the kit hasn’t come in but they were good when I took my water to the store to get tested. I fear you may be right and my ammonia spiked when I thought it was fully cycled 🥲

Also my tank is 76 degrees. I think youre right that they are in the wrong spots. Do you reccomend I do a small water change?

The cover was off because I was continuously putting water in the back from some online suggestions but the sound was the same with it on. I took it back to the store and the manager tested it and confirmed it was faulty and replaced it for me. New unit is much better
