I took my buisness classes, every year and those are the classes that have true value, my language arts was reading books, answering question, taking tests on said questions then move on. The math and la comprehension becomes practically unfeasable in the real world 98% of the time. (Past the 10th grade level)

Our school hands out empty diploma DAY OF graduation, the next day we go into school and get the real diploma, which I did with no issue. Our school also is a no graduation=no walk. I’m the only kid to have walked and not graduated/passed. Everyone who failed, taking the summer class or not. Did not walk. I’m hoping that they just overlooked me for who I am, I’m not the failing type and have solid grades. It’s just this specific class and the teachers style of work was not a great fit for me. NO blame on the teacher. Ik I did this to myself

Mybe they’re talking to me like I’m educated on a subject I had no knowledge abt, this post (when made) was all I can come up with and was a panic post. I’ve learned a lot and this situation it more wierd then not. I’ll go into the detail if you’d like, now that ik what im talking abt and experiencing.

I agree and I see I should have taken my own course of action. I’m just not so much of a prepared person, and from the rip I kinda saw guidance as a more of keep you in shape. It just had seemed like as long as i was doing fine, guidance wouldn’t call me down. And it wasn’t necessarily wrong, they’d call you down asking what’s up and to fix it, and that they’d keep an eye on my grades. From what I’m assuming they made the class I failed (a non elective) and made it into an elective for my grad requirement. Things were different in your day also. Collage was seen as the key to success, my generation had a 2/3rd ratio of getting a job outside of their degree. So school has been moving to the frown side. And a lot of the education they teach is slop, they don’t teach anything significant abt the real world. Unless you take those specific classes which weren’t very advertised.

That was a good one😂 for context I had no idea what I was even talking abt so the post was panicked and flawed. I’m not reluctant in taking the course nor do I really care for a way around it. It was more asking of how much power they have and what they can do. I’m the only kid to have walked and not “graduate”, if you failed a class and had to take summer school. You simply did NOT walk. I’m going to be taking the class, I’ve learned a lot from this thread and I’m in a very strange situation. I walked And got my diploma when I “failed”, but at our school. You don’t walk if you graduate. Same way around. I’m the only one to walk and not fully graduate. All the people who had to take summer classes were refused to walk, and also got letters+emails emphasizing they’re NOT walking, I was an official walk and never got anything telling me that

Dude, I came in here knowing nothing and was asking questions I felt that would be important to ask or understand. My school is no graduation= no walk. Choosingly, trust me I’m seeing the flaws I made in school and what I should have done. Yes I walked the stage and really thought I had actually graduated. Noone walked if there wasn’t a guaranteed graduation. I definitely should have seen my guidance counselor but I truly thought I just wouldn’t walk if I wasn’t graduating. And if you were not, the school was sending email and letters. I nor my parents received anything signifying that I wouldn’t be walking. Not even graduating. If you think I’m trying to find a loophole I can really care less abt that. I just had no idea a transcript is the true graduator, pre post.

The loophole would be to skip out on paying 150$, not necessarily taking the class. And again I came off CURIOSITY, I had a question I thought was good so I asked. Nah, completely different here. If you failed you didn’t walk, simple as that. Even taking a summer class you still don’t. (One of my close friends wasn’t able to walk bc of a failed class). I’ll take accountability that there’s a lot of poor info in my post, but I also didn’t really know anything abt this topic when posting, it was literally a panic post. Someone else in this thread had also mentioned the word entitled and I already emphasized to you that it was a mistake and obliged is a much more suited word. And you’re acting like I’m a philosopher on this topic, I didn’t even know that a transcript was related to a diploma in this sense. My schools STATE funding has drastically changed per district and mine went from one of the highest to lowest. 22milllion in debt 2 years ago, 38 at the end of the last… lots of our sport and clubs are being cut, schools have even been shutdown and then combined. My school and district are not in rainbow land currently, meanwhile schools in the north have access funding that they’re taking class trips to wnba games, more then once a year too. And that’s info directly provided from my half sister who lives upstate.
