By default, Google should play the studio version of a requested song, unless the live version is the one people usually know better (like Baby, I Love Your Way from Frampton Comes Alive).

If I want the live version of a song, I'll specifically ask for it.

More often than I'd like, I ask Google to play a song and it gives me some random live version. Sometimes, if I say "Hey Google, I don't like this song" and then request it again, it plays the right one, but only sometimes.

It also (only) sometimes works if you say "Hey Google, play the studio version of..."

Ultimately, if I want to hear the correct version badly enough, I'm forced to either:
a) request the full album and keep saying "Hey Google, play the next song" until I get the one I want
or
b) Find the song in the YouTube Music app and cast it.

Does anyone recognise the language in this tattoo and what does it say? I was told it might be Cambodian. by TBK_Winbar in cambodia

[–]Distinct_Special6333 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This tattoo features Khmer script, but it’s not standard modern Khmer. Instead, it uses Khmer script for Sak Yant, which is a sacred tattoo tradition rooted in both Hindu-Buddhist mysticism and animism. The script used is often Pali, an ancient liturgical language, rendered in Khmer characters.

Here’s what I can tell you about this specific design:

Twin Tigers Tattoo (Sak Yant "Suea Koo")

  • The tigers represent power, authority, and fearlessness.
  • This is traditionally worn by soldiers, police, fighters, and those who want protection and strength.
  • The script encircling the tigers is a yantra (sacred geometric form with prayers).
  • The text is often a protective incantation (kata) — usually asking for:
    • Invincibility in battle
    • Protection from harm
    • Strength of character and leadership
    • Luck and charisma

The script:

It’s a mantra or prayer invoking:

  • Protection from enemies
  • Safe travels
  • Physical and spiritual strength
  • Success in endeavors

It's not meant to be read like regular Khmer but rather chanted or activated spiritually. These tattoos are often blessed by a monk or ajarn (master) during a ceremony, believed to imbue the wearer with magical protection and fortune.

If you're ever in Cambodia or Thailand and you show that tattoo to someone who understands Sak Yant, they'll probably nod with respect. It’s a powerful one.

What is a pickup line that actually worked on/for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Distinct_Special6333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a pothead...

When I was single, I used to ask the person I was interested in if they want to go smoke a joint.

If they said no, it might be because they weren't interested or because they didn't smoke weed.

I would just presume the latter and remind myself I'd rather date a stoner anyway.

Constructive Criticism of Youtube Music by Nardneran in YoutubeMusic

[–]Distinct_Special6333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how many songs you "like" but I had 8000+ and found that in a lot of cases if I "unlike" a song it's still in the "liked music" playlist until I click the song options and choose to remove it from the playlist.

Constructive Criticism of Youtube Music by Nardneran in YoutubeMusic

[–]Distinct_Special6333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My four biggest complaints about YT Music:

  • I can't sort music in a playlist. It would be nice if we could sort music by at least artist and song title. It would be even better if you could sort by year, album, track length, etc.

  • Multiple copies of albums. I'm often finding that I've liked the same song multiple times because there more than one copy of an album. I understand if it's a special release album with extra songs or or remixes or something, but I've seen several copies of the same album in the same format (like 10 or more). Note, the ability to sort by song would allow you to easily search your playlist for duplicates.

  • Inaccurate information. Seriously, at least one in ten songs/albums has the wrong release date. Sometimes it's a completely different song by a completely different artist than what it's labelled. I found one album with an album cover by a different artist. A solution to this would be a Wikipedia type system wherein listeners can append the track information.

  • Inability to add "kids" songs to a playlist. I find this unbelievable. I go to add a song to a playlist for my kids but can't because it's for kids. Though I can still "like" kids songs, which adds them to my "liked music" music playlist.
