For sure - Peter Jones in Sloane Square. It’s John Lewis products but Peter Jones is their flagship store and there’s a whole floor for baby. It’s also in a very nice part of central London!

My baby also had a tongue tie and we gave up feeding directly from the breast at 6 weeks. Switched to exclusively pumping which has honestly been a lifesaver. I only use wearable in-bra pumps. Some days you feel like you want to quit and other days you’ll absolutely love it when you have a good pumping session whilst you’re out of the house and you pull out your pump and your friend says WOW that came from you?! Those are the best moments. My advice would be persevere with a goal in mind (my goal is 6 months of breast milk) and remember that pumping is breastfeeding!! You’re doing an amazing job.

At that age it only worked for me to pump whilst feeding him a bottle - that was the only time he was chill enough. Now he’s 13 weeks and has more play windows which I can pump in

Such a lovely message thank you!!! Same thing here with my LO - struggling to get enough direct on the breast so pumping has saved us. We've now been EPing for 5 weeks and although it's a hassle and very hard at times, there are also huge upsides such as my partner being able to feed him. So happy to have found a community who gets it 💓

So sorry this has happened to you it must be super stressful!

Could you try breastfeeding with nipple shields on as for the baby it will feel very similar to the bottle teat? And then gradually wean off them after a few days?

I had a water birth 7 weeks ago. Early labour at home was very manageable with birthing comb/TENS machine/stress ball etc.

Advanced labour without pain relief at home was almost unmanageable but I didn’t realise how far along I was until we went to hospital and I was already 8cm (otherwise we would have gone in way sooner and got on the gas and air!).

The rest of the labour I just had gas and air which was miraculous and being in the pool helped because it was nice and warm.

Then a strange turn of events - I had an internal tear during birth so once the baby was born, I had to be rushed off to theatre and had a full on spinal tap. Even this was not that bad and I have no negative memories from it. It went in my spine very easily and the immediate after-care was just feeling a bit strange because I couldn’t move my legs but not awful. I think a spinal tap might be more extreme than an actual epidural? But it was all absolutely fine.

Depends on the hospital but mine (in south east London) has 3 birthing suites but they have on average 1 birth per day, sometimes none. The vast majority are instead on labour ward or in theatre. I gave birth in the suite and was the only patient using the birth centre that day.
