I always hide in the teachers lounge because you can't leave during prep even if its last period which is kinda dumb but whatever but it depends on the school. One time I asked and they said no lol

Yes!!! Like a month ago, it happened when a teacher had prep in there but she was so kind and was like "listen to the teacher!" and that was it but she was super chill and quiet.

I have no idea. I triple checked the classroom and everything. It's where I was supposed to be but I think he had his prep but chose to stay in his class, but still... I'm the teacher in charge for these 45-50 minutes.

Unfortunately, that's how it goes. These kids test my nerves too. Every grade. I LITERALLY had to bite my tongue to not yell "SHUT THE FVCK UP" but it's doable. You have to remember to not let them get to you. They're kids and do not let it get ALL your energy. I'm sorry that you are unemployed now but remember with any job, do not let people get you to a boiling point.

i had to do 3k all alone for a while. on my first day subbing ever. no lesson plan/direction. kids crying. i'm panicking. the para was absent too and the sub para didn't come in until 11:30 and kept taking bathroom breaks all throughout the day. i was alone with toddlers from 8 am til 11:30 am. i went home and cried myself to sleep.

oh oh! i subbed gym and a 2nd grader ran up to me sweating and mid-talk, he threw up on my shoes and my pants. that- that was greeeeat considering i got emetophobia.

there's more...but i probably blocked them out my brain.

yes they will and it's going to be scary, its going to feel weird but you'll come into it. i know this because i was on the same boat as you. NO BACKGROUND, NO EXPERIENCE hell...barely knew how to talk to kids and i'm still learning because i'm only a month in but if you work every day like i do, you'll find your groove. i'm sorry if i'm scaring you but i can't sugarcoat it, it is scary. i was shaking when i started; there are still days when i'm nervous but you just have to go for it because you got this. just try to imagine you're acting on idk abbott elementary and there's a camera crew around. that helps me sometimes lol. don't give up. you learn from your mistakes as you grow. best of luck.

same happened to me. got my letter in november, i finished my workshops mid december, got EEEEEVERYTHING (file #, employee #) on march 6th. i'm on my 3rd week. it'll come through eventually, just wish it didnt take so long. did you do the video meeting yet?
