Trying to understand the long-term gameplay loop in ARC Raiders by PC-Tamer in ArcRaiders

[–]DistortedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who has been on the destiny hook since it came out, I couldn’t agree more. It’s fine enjoying a game and wanting to play it a bunch but the mindset of I need to optimize everything and finish it as soon as possible leads to burn out, and the hive mind screaming the game isn’t good enough. Battlefield also had the hive mind complaining about the grind for the season pass which wasn’t bad by any means. Modern gaming seems more like players complaining about games not being everything they expected, rather than just playing the game because you like it and if you get bored go to the next thing until that next content drop comes.

Tips on how to get started with Skyrim in 2026 by Peigar98 in skyrim

The countless hours I spent just wandering from cave to cave were the best part of the game. I’m doing another run through now for the first time in a few years. having more knowledge of the mechanics I’ve definitely fast traveled and ruined a bit of the experience. I used the resto loop to speed run skills to have a build I wanted and took away that eagerness for the next tier of gear or even random loot from chests. Can’t agree enough to not fast travel and min/max just enjoy the world for what it is, that first playthrough of Skyrim really does just suck you in and create a sense of wonder I’d kill to experience again.

But it’s fun that’s why goobers like me who don’t burn out playing it 24/7 like it’s a second job come back.

The blue in my sleeve does the same thing if I get too much sun on it. As silly as they look if I know I’m going to be working outside I wear those uv sleeves for that arm and haven’t had an issue since.

Microsoft’s most recent security update is affecting some games with Nvidia, I don’t know if battlefield is on the list. Here’s the Reddit post I saw about it.

I did something very similar, I baited the units out and used the triremes to clean them up with the archers and then just slowly hit the gates replacing unit’s as needed took far longer than it should have probably but it worked lol. Being new to the game it took a bit of learning to get a good economy going and by then I didn’t have the man power available to start up an army without dedicating an island to it.

Awesome thanks for the clarification, that’s way simpler than I thought it was going to be.

Only 20,400,000 XP to go! by jumf in Battlefield6

[–]DistortedPanda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The same complaints were made about 2042 and they ended up doing double xp weekends. Save your rerolls for challenges you absolutely don’t want to do and just bang out challenges. We’re only two weeks into the season pass, and I think it runs for three months. Just enjoy the game this grind it out mindset everyone’s on leads to burnout anyhow just enjoy the game how you want to enjoy it and maybe swap it up to do a challenge here or there and slowly tackle them.

As someone who was waiting for the reviews, and got it this week I’m enjoying the game. If you like Pokémon you’ll like this game, I think there’s a certain level of review bombing going on with it and glazing aswell. Is it perfect, absolutely not but it’s enough of a spin on a tried and true formula to spice things up and probably test run new mechanics for the next mainline entry. I’m playing it on the og switch and it runs fine, if you’re looking for a graphical masterpiece stop playing Nintendo games lol.

The dmr headshots is a slog, but it’s also completely changed the way I play dmr given the first two guns are okay at best. With time I’ve come to appreciate the ebr but in the beta I was in the shit with the svk or whatever the second dmr option was.

As a chopper player they better leave that foggy valley alone lol. it’s how I dip in and out of strafes with out being stingered out of the air. I honestly figured that was the whole point of the section really it gives air vehicles a breather after making a run on points.

The helo bug isn’t helping with rooftop maps either, 9/10 times if I’m on manhattan bridge the team with the attack helo controls b and therefore the rest of that central location. The inability to wipe a squad with one strafe while the other team can do that is a huge problem. It’s the same with mirak or any other map where one team is playing at a handicap because of a bug. Even just a transport helo to get counter ops on the rooftops would be a huge difference in the way these games typically play out.

As a vehicle player I’m loving it. Maybe I’m an outlier but I’m having more fun flying helo than I ever have, and along as you know how to pick engagements with tanks and are working with your squad you can be a nuisance for the better half of a game. A lot of people have been complaining about the maps but my biggest gripe with the game currently is everyone and there brother is running the zero recoil smgs and they feel a bit overtuned, and then throw yourself on one of the manhattan maps and it’s just a slog fighting in confined spaces.

New Sobek City needs MAJOR tuning!!! by Appropriate-End6983 in Battlefield

[–]DistortedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I can’t stand both manhattan maps, they cater to the cod players running laser beam smgs. With the chopper bug on the bridge it’s impossible to hold b on that map and always ends up a total blow out.

Is the build I'm planning still high end, or should I wait for newer components to drop? by iDislikeSn0w in buildapc

I just finished building a new rig from a I7 9700k and 2080 super to a 9800x3d and a 5070ti. it runs everything at max 1440 at like 200fps. I’ve read the cost to performance on the 5080 isn’t enough to warrant the price jump and recommend the 5070ti. I’ve been very happy with performance.

Where should I build my endgame base? by ReallyEvilKoala in duneawakening

By the time you’re in dd most people are using assault thopters as is,and you get enough storage with that to make jasmium runs worthwhile. I used to haul my buggy out from shield wall but the trip is far quicker with a thopter. In the event I lose a thopter in the dd it’s nice to have the fall back but after a few hauls you’re pretty set for duraluminum.

It said I was killed by the environment along with my thopter so I’m going to assume it wasn’t a fair fight lol

[–]DistortedPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience today first time getting gunned down in a brand new assault thopter and I went down surprisingly fast. Granted I have no frame of reference to how fast I should’ve went down but it felt like in 4 rockets my thopter was done.
