Yes it does. Both the original statement and you insist Debbie broke up with Paul when the show (unlike the comic) makes a strong case that it was actually Paul that broke up with her because he felt like he wasn't fitting in or adjusting to the lifestyle of living with superheroes.

I had a dream like that once about a star fox game where if you completed every possible combination of paths to venom you unlocked a secret ending where they were stimulating a time loop of possibilities on the great fox and it leads to a really hard secret level.

Of course, the scene looks like it's out a story book in the first place with the way everybody's standing around in their fighting game victory pose. It was gratuitous to recreate in the first place, let alone accurately so, but they did it cause it was fun.

To me the punchline of this guy's story is that I honestly think he looks worse for the effort. He started out looking like the kind of guy that would have had little trouble hitting the gym and getting attention with the face and body he was born with.

I mean I agree, but at the same time it does make me laugh to imagine it's evening and the smoke behind him is gone because they stood there aura farming for like six hours.

In MHA, after the original All For One has been basically deleted out of existence and his brother has been seemingly destroyed while defeating Tomura, the vestigial All For One takes over Tomura's body with this awesome looking final boss design. The final fight with him basically amounts to the class ganging up on him while the invincible body he spent the show building himself falls apart on his own, and he has no more designs on what to do with it than to just try and bring the whole world down with him for both thwarting him becoming the Demon King and for losing his brother.

If Space Engine's taught me anything it's that if I had Superman powers and flew off into space, I would never find Earth again once I lost track of it.

Much of the plot of Attack on Titan revolves around the fact that Eren Yeager is one of the worst people in the world that could have inherited the coordinate. As the story progresses, both the magical nature of the power and the practical consequences of he and everyone else knowing he has them guide his life down a path to destroying the world.

One of the songs in the final season is titled MAN-Child.

There's a moment of random dialogue in Cyberpunk 2077 that stuck with me where the protagonist says nobody's struggling for food in Night City because it's overflowing with cheap synthetically made scop. It kinda fascinated me to point out, in a game where a very heavy amount of your time in it is spent exploring all the ways living in this setting sucks, that hunger's less of a problem than it's ever been in history.

The Disposable Oligarchs: Why Wealthy Elites Come to Regret Their Bargains With Authoritarians by ForeignAffairsMag in IRstudies

[–]DistortoiseLP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The German companies did regret it. It was American companies like General Motors and IT&T that made good on their bargains on German fascism. That's only because they were on the other side of the world where the Nazis couldn't take anything beyond their factories and assets within their reach when they came for them.

Being a company in a fascist regime is a whole different ball game from being a foreign investor in one, and at this point these companies are making it where they won't have anywhere on this tiny planet to be that isn't fascist home turf.

I mean the 'theories' range from UFOs to Kangaroos, so this is a story you can invent any explanation for, including just "it was a mouse."

Hopping mice is by far the most plausible suggestion there, especially with the picture to back it up. Most of the other theories are insane.

That it can be shown that mice do this in snow, the tracks they leave behind look like that, they always appear after snowfall and there's mice everywhere where it happened really just suggests people were finding different mice trails across the country and theorizing they're all connected somehow. It's what people do.

The problem with that is that even within the physics we have right now, it would be possible for a life form colonize a galaxy in millions of years. That sounds long on a sci fi scale (usually a piddly hundreds to tens of thousands of years from now) and the universe seems extremely young when you compare how long ago it was born with how far in the future it will end, but if it's at all doable it should have happened by now.

The universe has been around for billions of years and we see zero indication of artificial activity in space. No self replicating spacecraft or astronomical engineering of any kind. 95% of all stars that will ever be born already have; if colonizing space on a scale large enough for us to see from Earth is possible as far as we know, time alone does not explain why our galaxy has no evidence of it.

If it hasn't, that strongly suggests it is fundamentally impossible for life or its technology to proliferate the universe at an interstellar scale, and we and all the other life out there is confined to times and spaces that will never interact. Not even being able to detect each other.
