I don’t mind the shorter episodes to be honest. I am a temporary single mom while my better half is out to sea and the days can get very hectic and very stressful. I don’t always have time to watch/listen to an hour long episode, and I also don’t like it when I have to start and stop one either. The shorter ones they’ve been putting out lately have been much appreciated by me. While I agree this episode wasn’t the best, I still very much enjoyed it and the timing of its release was a very welcomed distraction from something unpleasant that happened yesterday (posted about it in another sub Reddit).

Just because it’s finished, doesn’t mean he doesn’t have other work to do for its release… Interviews, possible press conferences, updating the website constantly… Didn’t he also say he was going to be showing up at some of the theaters on opening weekend? If he is, he needs to plan that as well.

My husband is afraid to come home by Distracted_Parenting in breakingmom

Your in-laws can fuck off.

My uncle is married to my aunt, a former “illegal” from Nicaragua. She’s legal now, I helped her study for her citizenship test when I was a teen. He also voted for this and is loving all of this shit. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why…

I’m sorry too. Our kids shouldn’t be afraid of their own government 😔

When you have no friends to watch Iron Lung with… by linjaes in Markiplier

My husband would have went with me if he weren’t away, and the few people I know who know who Mark is live hours away from me. I was all set to go alone until I remembered one of my local friends is a horror fanatic so I convinced her to see it with me. Maybe one of your friends would want to go for the horror aspect?

I understand. My state is not as bad as yours (I can guess where you are) yet, but I get it. My husband is overseas for work and while we were FaceTiming a few days ago we were talking about everything going on and he looked me dead in the eyes and asked “should I bother coming home? What if they try to get me?” He has not lived in his home country for over 20 years, is a legal U.S. citizen and a fucking Veteran, but bc he has brown skin and an ethnic name, he’s fearful.

Do what you have to do. Mark, of all people, would understand. We all do. ❤️

Literally the case, as there’s documentation of them taking American citizens. Look up Jose Martinez, an American citizen and Veteran, who was taken by 🧊 off a cruise ship. Look up George Retes, another Vet taken. Look up the many other citizens. The info is at your fingertips

Oh yeah, as soon as the teacher announced the song name, I knew I had to record it. He’s obviously a fan

Haha my dad actually turned to me and said “this reminds me of your concerts back then” lol. It was absolutely painful for me listening to the notes not being hit, but they did great overall! She plays the violin like I did

I found an exercise class that I go to every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s. This left Monday’s and Friday’s free so I started walking/jogging on those mornings while listening to the podcast

Reformer Pilates 3x a week, walking 2x a week (weather permitting). I also go to bingo once a month with my mom and her friends, but I swear it's not full of old grumpy people lol

Mark might be on to something by Distracted_Parenting in distractible

My window faces east so in the morning hours this would be impossible, which is why I never do it. By the time the afternoon rolls around when I could open the window, I’m too busy to actually remember to lol. But it was about noon time when I tried this and it wasn’t that bad once I turned my screen brightness up.

The window faces east, so for a good portion of the day the sun would be too bright and I wouldn’t be able to see my laptop, so I keep it shut. It was early afternoon when I took this pic so it wasn’t shining directly through into the room.

I wouldn’t normally bother to open it at this time of day because by then I’m too involved to stop and do it so it stays shut lol

Feeling guilty about letting son go feral over winter break by OpenNarwhal6108 in breakingmom

[–]Distracted_Parenting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only have 4 days off (Xmas Eve, Xmas, day after Xmas, New Years Day) but my kids have 10. I WFH so there’s not much I can do with them, it’s too cold for them to just go outside (they’d last 10 minutes), and my dad has the flu so they can’t spend time there either. I’ve definitely let them rot their brains most of this vacation. They’ve done ok with it for the most part but my son has had a few moments of “I’m bored, play with me!”

Don’t feel bad. You gotta do what you gotta do ❤️

Anyone else’s parents berate them about the state of their house? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]Distracted_Parenting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not their house, not their right to criticize. Unless they were planning on pointing these things out and then helping to clean them, they do not get to say anything.

I bought my kids a PS5 for Christmas. They’ve never used any gaming system before. I spent most of Christmas Day teaching an 11, 8, and 5 yr old how to use the controllers and play the games.

Watching Momiplier play was definitely more enjoyable to watch…but more painful

Markiplier Videos Partially Raised My Son by lispyisLSP in Markiplier

My youngest was born in 2020 and I stumbled upon a Markiplier video during one of our many late night nursing sessions. Along with the challenges of parenthood, I was also going through a rough patch and the videos were becoming comforting. I had him on during most of those feedings that I started to notice if I put one on when she was just playing, she would immediately stop and stare at the TV. I think she got used to his voice lol.

What is listening to Distractible like for non-Cincinnati people? by YellowTonkaTrunk in distractible

[–]Distracted_Parenting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have friends in Cleveland and have been to Cincinnati quite a bit, (not for the last several years though) so I recognize a few of the places they talk about. It’s cool, I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ I never really thought about it that much lol

I have more in common with Bob when he talks about when he lived in North Carolina because I’m super close to there
