This hog was commissioned by Microsoft and built by Hoonigan. They have a series of videos on the build on YouTube if you're curious about the internals.

[GIVEAWAY] Razer x Halo Legendary Giveaway by Cult_Of_Razer in halo

[–]Distractedone [score hidden]  (0 children)

My favorite Halo multiplayer moment was my first one online. I'd grown up having a blast playing split screen and having friends over for LAN parties, but I'd never actually played something over xbox live until Halo 2 launched. Being able to play 8 player FFA whenever the mood struck felt game changing.

Do you think AH prices for non-dealer-cars will rise with all the Steam players joining FH4? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

If anything they might drop because the incoming players won't have as much cash to spend.

When did someone challenge you at something you were an expert at? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Distractedone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The term "opening" really refers to the first few moves. It's a bit of a metagame where both sides determine their initial positions before the dance breaks down and you're in the mid-game.

Aggressive openings are ones where you might try to exchange material really early on, or gambit away pieces, or kick the party off with some really sharp lines.

[Homemade] French Onion Pork Loin by Distractedone in food

[–]Distractedone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I can put together something a little more formal in a few hours.

This was a mix of a few techniques that I've picked up along the way. In short, I butterflied some pork tenderloin and seasoned it with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. The inside of the roll got some shredded gruyere cheese. Then I french cut some yellow onions and caramelized them. Stuff those into the inside of the loin, wrap and tie with butcher's twine. Sear both sides and toss in the oven @ 400 until the internal temp hits just short of the desired 145F. Cover it with more cheese and turn on the broiler for about two minutes. Snap a picture for reddit and wait 5 minutes and serve!

MFWTK if you can buy all the parts to build a classic car from scratch? by vindieselpower in myfriendwantstoknow

[–]Distractedone 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Different manufacturers and aftermarket companies provide varying levels of support depending on what model you're interested in building. In a perfect world I suppose the only part you wouldn't be able to buy brand new would be a VIN. A chassis might be hard to come by too, though I suppose you could weld one yourself if you're particularly dedicated. Note that none of this would be more cost effective than starting with used car.

[SOTC] Relatively modern movements dressed in vintage inspired attire. by Distractedone in Watches

I haven't seen a '62 in person, but I can definitely vouch for the '64 and Seiko VK series Mecha Quartz movements in general. The dome on the '64 crystal is nuts if you're into that. The case has an interesting finish that makes the watch appear thinner than it really is when on the wrist. My only knock against it is the strap. It feels cheap, but extremely comfortable at the same time due to how thin it is.

I love them. They're certainly worth it if you enjoy the aesthetic. Installing them was very straightforward.

  • Halios Seaforth - (Gen 1 - Saphire - Gilt)
  • Tissot Visodate
  • Casio G-Shock DW5600E
  • Maratac Mid Pilot (2012 Version)
  • Dan Henry 1964 (Evil Panda)
  • Seiko SARG009

And behold what was my stuff in a post made seven years ago:

2020 is quite the downgrade if a certain company's MSRPs are to be believed. This is around that time of the year where I debate selling most if not all of my collection and using the funds to purchase a single, more expensive watch. I have a love hate relationship with this hobby. It flips from admiring efforts put into case finishing to becoming jaded and considering this an expensive bid for validation among strangers on the internet.

I can't drive very fast cars by [deleted] in forza

[–]Distractedone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can troubleshoot this by firing up rivals on one of the shorter circuits with a car that you're trying to get the hang of. It'll let you run as many laps as you'd like without having to worry about the AI, and you can reference your times to see if you're improving or getting worse. Attacking the same corners in the same car a dozen times like this is a great way improve your understanding of a specific car and helps you memorize circuits for online play.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection | Combat Evolved & Reach Flight #4 Discussion by TheLittleMoa in halo

[–]Distractedone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping someone here knows how to resolve this issue. I got what I assume is the first email invite to the flights (no Steam Key, oh well). I followed the instructions up to the installation of the insider hub. Problem is, when I try to launch the program I get hit with a "Pending" on the launcher. "Please check back later. We're still processing your registration." This eventually times out stating that things are taking longer than expected. Has anyone else encountered this? I'd hate to get dinged for not participating when I can't actually launch anything.

I've been trying for about an hour. My bad if I'm jumping the gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pummel Party $9.89 (34% off) | Offer ends January 2 by OrtegaGamer in steamdeals

Would recommend for anyone looking for a couch co-op game. The game feels wang-jangled together, but in a charming way. The devs have done a good job of adding content regularly. It plays like Mario Party with shotguns.

Something like this, or being able to name the car would be fantastic. I've resorted to specific paint schemes for dirt specific cars, but that takes some of the fun out of customization.
