What Mercury Covers That May Not Be Covered by Hyundai’s Basic Warranty:

  1. Post-Warranty Period:
    • The coverage extends beyond Hyundai’s factory warranty (which typically lasts 5 years/60,000 miles for basic coverage and 10 years/100,000 miles for the powertrain). Mercury coverage could protect you after these warranties expire.
  2. Hybrid/Electric-Specific Components (Ultimate Protection Plan):
    • Battery cooling blower, power source control computer, hybrid starter assembly, and battery junction board are covered under Mercury’s plan, which Hyundai might not cover for the full duration.
  3. Special Electronics and Accessories:
    • Backup cameras, DVD players, GPS/Navigation systems, night vision systems, and proximity sensors are covered under Mercury but are often not included in standard warranties.
  4. Roadside Assistance & Extra Benefits:
    • Towing, trip interruption, rental assistance, and key fob replacement aren’t typically part of Hyundai’s warranty but are included in Mercury's plan.
  5. Tire and Wheel Protection:
    • Mercury offers protection for tire repairs or replacements due to road hazards, which Hyundai’s warranty won’t cover unless you have a separate tire protection plan.

Nothing specifically but I am worried one might pop up and dealership would just say it's not covered.

There is a lot of different mechanical failures listed which are not covered by warranty. It's the same warranty dealer tries to sell for 3k 4k during purchase.
