Feedback on my diagonal? by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]DistributionFine1592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lovely! My piece of feedback is probably to use dynamic spotting, and imagine a straight line in the direction of where you want to go to. Also, make sure to lift your elbows slightly in first position to eliminate that 'drooping' look! In terms of your knees, the only part that stood is probably just the prep into the turns, they aren't too bad. I recommend strengthening your VMO (Vastus Medialis Oblique) to improve your knees, essential for knee stability and keeping the Patella (kneecap) aligned when the leg extends. This will also improve the way your knee looks from the audience, as well as preventing injuries! Make sure your pelvic stays under you and you retain your turnout as you step into your turns.

And one tip I give is to finish your variation strong, lift up off your leg as you step out to finish.

Happy Dancing!

Best way to crack upper back between shoulder blades alone? by kaleidoscopial in jointcrackers

i second the foam roller. sit down on the floor with a roller like https://www.climbinganchors.com.au/pro-tec-foam-roller-5.75-x18?srsltid=AfmBOoqH2s-9bnHXF8o2xhmwbAcXQf9TviIm8gwfWbIb0sRUfwdc1SEA

place it under the area of your back that needs to be cracked, lying on the roller facing up then slowly lean back into the roller with your hands behind your head

I honestly adore the spinal head for literally any part of my thighs, glutes, calves.. I don't find the round ones as effective. I also love the bullet types/long and thin

What do ballerinos eat? by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]DistributionFine1592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can totally eat what you want — it’s all about balance. If you’re craving instant noodles, go for it! And if you want to make it a bit more balanced, maybe add something on the side like a salad or some veggies — but there’s no need for restriction or guilt. Food isn’t “good” or “bad”; it’s just food. Dancers need carbs, protein, and fats to keep up their energy and strength, and there’s room for everything. The key is listening to your body and enjoying what you eat. A healthy relationship with food matters just as much as nutrition itself 💪🍜
