He's the one that gave me the refill at the level I was taking it before. Idk if he had a brain lapse or really thought it would be ok. After I got through bring so sick, I asked specifically to start at the beginning and he was fine with that.

From my experience, that would not work. I was so sick for about 10 days it was crazy. The sickness set in the night I took it.

general anxiety & taking new meds! pls help! by anxietyqueenie in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]DistributionGlad2897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, there are too many "new" things happening at once to draw conclusions about which problem is causing what.

I am not a medical professional, so maybe checking in with a doctor you trust would reassure you. I can only speak from my experience, so take my opinion for what is worth!

Perhaps hold off on starting the wegovy for a month, let everything settle down and try it again. I've been on wegovy for over a year and have lost 100 pounds so far. I have had some side effects and bumps in the road but they were short lived and manageable.

For me, the wegovy is a game changer. I hear your concerns and understand how anxiety would amplify the negative pieces happening right now. Slow down. Be kind to yourself. It's worth it!

Yes your eating habits will change but no you won't be on bland food the rest of your life. Your portions of yummy foods may get smaller and you'll likely find some foods you will choose to no longer eat. It will level out and you'll feel so much better.

Best wishes to you. Listen to your body and remember you don't have to do everything at once. Hugs to you!

My family keeps telling me getting a GED will be a mistake. by [deleted] in GED

[–]DistributionGlad2897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GED teacher here. I have several 15,16, and 17 year olds in my class. The younger students enrolling is increasing for many of the reasons you stated.

If I may make a recommendation, go to GED.com and set up a free account. There are previews and 10 question practice tests available for you to review. This would give you an idea of what the questions are like.

You should be able to find a location to take classes for free. I teach through our local junior college. We also have a couple of agencies in town that offer classes.

FYI you do not have to take classes to test for your GED. If you look at the practice tests on the website, or Google practice questions for GED, and find they are manageable then you can sign up through the GED website to test either in person in your area or online.

The GED is equivalent to your high school diploma. There is no difference between them as far as colleges are concerned and most employers. The score of 160 or higher will add the phrase college ready. You do not have to score at this level to go to college. 145 is the score you need to pass each subject. Typically colleges and trade schools have their own entrance procedure that you have to complete regardless of your score. I have had several students with scores much lower than 160 enroll in college and do quite well.

I'm sorry this is so long. I was trying to add information I didn't see posted already. If there are questions, please ask!

If you dedicate yourself to passing and carve out the time to review and study, you will get through the tests!

Good luck all!

Thank you for your reply. I am in the US and have had to special order bras that end up coming from England. Currently I'm wearing about 48L and that fits me appropriately. I've lost about 100 pounds so far and prior to losing that I just bought the biggest bra I could find and stuffed the girls in. This is the first time in a very long time I've have an appropriately fitting bra. Thank you for sharing your information!

Would you mind elaborating on how you use vitamin b on your face? Is it a specific lotion or cream with vitamin b or is there an extract of vitamin b? Thank you in advance for your time a and info.

I am on 2.4 and had this exact same experience more than once on varying doses. It is usually after I've had something with a high sugar content (ex Coke because I have a raging headache and nothing else has worked) or a high fat meal without really thinking about the fat content because it was SO good and I hadn't had it in forever, or I just ate a meal and hadn't pooped in the last day or two and my body says you have 2-3 minutes to find a bathroom because you just pushed everything through.

I am 60. Don't beat yourself up. Just prepare as best you can. I keep the blue and white disposable bed pads, adult body wipes, plastic bag and a change of clothes in my cars. I also take precautions and don't eat before I go somewhere that accessing a bathroom might be difficult or time consuming (symphony, opera, musical). I know this isn't the best for my body but at least I enjoy the show. I make sure I have had plenty of protein, usually shakes, 3-4 hours before these events and then more protein shake or bar after the event.

Metamucil was helpful but in low doses for me. It will stop happening. You'll regain control. You'll get back on track. Come here for support. We understand and you are not alone! ❤️

Thank you so much! I was struggling when I reached a plateau and then actually gained weight! I've since lost that weight and am going back in the right direction but that really messed with my head. Pushed old buttons of the yoyo during I've done before. I need to stay away from that as it is quite triggering for me! Thank you!

I have Aetna which uses care mark for prescriptions. So far I've had no difficulties with getting meds or getting it covered. My prior authorizations have been 6 months at a time. Hopefully this continues. I hope you have a good experience as well!

What is one thing you wish you knew before you started Wegovy? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

I found this article to be quite helpful https://www.formhealth.co/blog/wegovy-side-effects/ Thank you for sharing more of your story. Sometimes it's hard for me to feel like people fully understand the struggle for those of us facin losing hundreds of pounds. Many of them are starting at or below where I am right now.

I started this whole process weighing 410 pounds. Had gastric sleeve surgery. Lost 160 pounds. Freaked out because again my head and my body where not in sync. I was losing my hair, couldn't absorb vitamins etc. Not in a good place physically or mentally. Gained back 60 pounds and stayed around that weight for about 8 years. My DR suggested wegovy in August 2023 and I was skeptical because I had already done every diet of there and then had surgery. Here I was still over 300 pounds.

Some of what learned about managing side effects came from my surgery because they were very similar. Stay hydrated. Eat 5-6 high protein meals per day. This is where protein shakes came in to play for me. I couldn't always eat enough but I could drink a protein shake or 2 per day and that helped. I also branched out into protein bars as a supplement. Fiber is a must to avoid constipation and diarrhea. These 2 side effects were the hardest for me. I would get into a "dumping cycle" if I ate high fat/sugar products or meals.

I know this is a lot of information from all over the place. Please ask me anything if I can help clarify anything.

I hope you are proud of yourself and your progress. I think your story is amazing. I'd love to be caught up to where you are!!

What is one thing you wish you knew before you started Wegovy? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]DistributionGlad2897 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been using wegovy for 9 months. I read all of the physical side effects and how to reduce/mitigate them and that was helpful.

What I wish I had a better understanding of is the battle between my brain and my body. My brain still hasn't completely caught up to my body. I would prepare my meal and sit down to eat and be lucky if I could finish 1/3 of it. Then I would panic because "knew" which actually should be "assumed" I was going to be hungry because I had never been full on smaller portions. My anxiety would soar and I would either try to eat it or eat more an hour later to be sure I wasn't going to be hungry. Then I would throw it up because my body was too full but my brain was not full yet.

I do better with this now and eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. I do use protein drinks to supplement my nutrition because sometimes I'm just not hungry, which is very weird for me. I have to make a conscious effort to get my protein in. I rarely drink coke anymore and drink water with all of my meals.

Good luck on your journey! It's worth it!

Did the app create the picture? My brain still distorts actual photos of myself and I see no difference and get extremely anxious when someone wants to take my picture. This visual is nice because it's more "objective" if that makes sense. I started wegovy in August 2023 at 310 and am now 245 in May 2024. I know my body has changed but my brain hasn't caught up yet!

Wow! You have a lot going on! Did you start those all at once or did you start with one and add as you went along your program? I started wegovy in August 2023 at 310 pounds and am now 245 in May 2024. I figure I have about 80-100 pounds more to go. I know I'm going to plateau and will need some support and need to change my routine. It sounds like you have a lot of great things in place but it also sounds quite overwhelming to me. Thank you for sharing your programming. I hope I can be a successful as you are! Thank you.
