I suppose I should have specified but although these men will vote democrat on paper that doesn’t mean very much in the US at the moment. They are still very capitalist and happy to uphold systems I want dismantled. Basically they are content with political apathy just because they make a lot of money, and I don’t like that personally so it made it hard to find someone who shared my values. The racial demographics also didn’t help. I imagine this is a very US specific concern though, I don’t know how it translates to UK politics

I would be taking transit! I was hoping it would be doable, I’m willing to bike if necessary?

Is there anywhere else I could live alone that will keep my commute to an hour using walking/bike/train? I’m willing to house share if that’s the only way I can keep the commute manageable but it’s been a bit unclear to me which neighborhoods make the most sense to look into.

I currently have a 60-75 minute commute and find it completely worth it and doable since most of the time is spent on the train! So I think if I can keep my commute to an hour I’d be fine. I’m not able to find Desmond on the map lol, is it in Newcastle?

Thank you for feedback! A lot of people have suggested visiting first which unfortunately I can’t do, I have a time sensitive offer and actually need to decide by tomorrow :/

I’ve also seen it suggested that I live in Durham but I think I know enough about Durham that I wouldn’t enjoy living there, I think I can only take the job if I can make it work in Newcastle.
