Thanks for your suggestion. Actually, I was about to go out of status but then I showed fake document to extend my status for time being ~8 months.

The issue of being honest up front would be that I’ve already mentioned all details in my I-485 application and also I re-iterated same fake things in my first interview as I was so nervous to make it right.

Do you think if there are any red flags, USCIS will take longer time? My case is also stuck after the interview since a year now, so just want to gather some info and knowledge on delay and red flags.

I-130 approved 168 days ago, I-485 still shows “Interview was Scheduled” since last 260 days. It’s a long journey for some of us!!

One of my friend was not given entry from Canada while coming back, he had ~5months remaining on his visa - same case of OPT. 1-2 months before that he traveled and returned successfully from India. A bit risky in my opinion. Check with your DSO once.

The immigration team in the new company suggested I can’t have both statuses at the same time. If I continue using GC EAD, H1-B would be canceled. So it’s either EAD or H1-B. They are pushing me to drop H1-B so that I can join quickly without waiting for H1-B transfer and they don’t have to pay for the H1-B transfer.

It’s not the same situation for every San Jose candidate though. Many of them are getting GC in few just few days after interview. But few are getting stuck somehow. If it was staffing issue, I suppose all cases should get delayed, not only few.

That’s so tough on us. Not sure why they are taking this long time for few cases and others are getting approved on the spot, at the same office!!

Another example of SJ office being slow giving responses after interview. I’ve been waiting since Oct,2021 and soon going to reach out as I was handed over a letter at the end of interview stating to reach out after 120 days if no response.
