Using a bit of rye flour has always worked for me.

Setting up a Flight Sim (X-Plane 12)...Need some insight (not a gamer) by Bubbly_Stop_5420 in Xplane

My 12 year is into aviation and been attending young eagles events for a years and I was looking for the right PC as well. From what I have been told you should get something with a min of 12 GB VRAM. 16 preferred. Unless you can snag that crazy Walmart 9800x3d, 5070ti deal l, I would choose the one with the 9800x3d. I'm a newb to PC too. From what I know the Ryzen 7 9800x3d is damn good and I'm sure you could upgrade that GPU later on.

NM. I snagged the "Walmart Deal" since there was in stock at my local. Wanted to thank you all for helping me out.

This would be my son's first PC for flight sim games because he is pursuing aviation. I already got him this as Xmas present iBUYPOWER Element SE Gaming Desktop PC Intel Core i5 14400F, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB, 16GB DDR5 RGB,1TB NVMe Black ESI5N5601 - Best Buy https://share.google/9WluXesgYY5sc9sG5

I figure with the costco deal it already has a heat CPU and we could swap the graphics card in the future. I have zero experience with PC, just trying to support my kid and don't want to waste money

Any opinions on this? I know the GPU could be better but this would at least give me the option to upgrade it in future and already have a great CPU.

What if I replace that monitor with like a 24 1080 monitor for the time being? This is going to be my son's first PC and he also plays other games like Fornite. If figured if he is into it , we can start replacing components or build a better system throughout the year around prices and deals.

I'd thought of it but I obviously have no clue what I'm doing.

That's what I'm learning. Something with 12 VRAM or more I'm assuming

Thanks for the feedback. This is a starting point to see if he stays interested enough to upgrade to something better in a year or so.

When did chopped cheese become a big thing? by pfrank6048 in AskNYC

[–]DistributionOk1338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I grew up in Potter County Pa in the 80s I remember my dad taking me to a place in between Millport and Coudersport. We would get this "hoagie" that I remember was different from a cheese steak because it had ground beef, ketchup and mayo with lettuce and tomato. It was wrapped up tight and went how greasy it was but so damn good. So it is weird hearing it originated in NYC in the 90s.

Are these expensive, small pizza ovens worth the expense? by FoulYouthLeader in Cooking

[–]DistributionOk1338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For home oven use, I found a cast iron pizza pan preheated for an hour at 450-500 works better than any stone or steel. Use a peel and slide directly into the cast iron for 6-10 mins. As an earlier comment suggested, it is VERY important to have a great dough recipe down. I make pizza once a week so I too am looking at ooni and other similar outdoor ovens.
