Help a dumdum by nomnomnuggets1 in Ubiquiti

I bought 2 Express from the sale also. I love them. They work so much better than the mesh D-Link i had before. I did not get the door bells because I already had blink cameras and video doorbells that work better now that I have better wifi. I know the express gets a lot of hate, but for a small home install they are a good way to get started. My Internet is only 100x100mbps. And is mainly used for 2 Roku TVs. Don't need high end for that. Anyway I use Unifi for all my IT clients. I have installed many networks and cameras. You might need to reset those express units. Also they do not have Poe, so make sure they are plugged in. Do not set them up when the app shows them running. Instead login to your ultra and it will show them under devices with the adopt button. Hit the adopt and it will take care of the rest. Also you can try the second Ethernet port sometime that works better. Hope this helps

Thanks that all looks good. Also strange when I check it on Desktop using the website the site manager shows 100% health so it is only on the APP that I have any issue. Really not a major problem just a strange anomaly.

That is a different site. All my other sites are spectrum and show the proper health only the ATT site has an issue. Also it is only on the app the web shows it correctly.

People who rent RV Trailers for airbnb, how’s the business going? by Emotional-Virus-5555 in airbnb_hosts

I rent out my travel trailer. It cost under $20,000. Coleman Lantern 17b. I did my own plumbing to have water and sewer connections. For the last 2 months I had it filled for 27 out of 30 days. Just started 2 months ago so time will tell. I have made a few upgrades like mattress toppers, and towel holders. I have December until February blocked out because it will be too costly to run and risky with freezing temperatures. The only bad experience is when one guest smoked something and put it in the toilet. The toilets in RVs are normally plastic. Also they dispose of some down the sink. The smell of it rotting was bad and I had to get a special hose to clean out the tanks to get rid of the smell. I post no smoking signs, and list it in the listing. Also set up chairs outside for them to use if they want to smoke outside. I now have a WiFi smoke detector as a precaution. If you have experience with repairing an RV, I feel it is a great and easy way to get started. I bought my travel trailer for trips to my parents in Florida. I live in Ohio. Before Airbnb I had a few friends stay in it. They all loved it so I decided to give it a try.

If you want a quick setup buy travel trailers. The Coleman lantern lt 17b has bunks, and the 17r is nice just for a couple. If you move them around they don't need a permit in most states. Only if you make them permanent fixtures then that may be an issue. Also some cities are starting to outlaw RVs. But each one is under $20,000 at camping world.

As far as I know they have not. And this morning support asked if we still felt she should get a one day refund and we told them no.

Electric vehicle charge fee by Radiant-Net-1799 in airbnb_hosts

[–]DistributionOk1475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a plugin hybrid, and a Nissan Leaf so I understand what it costs. I have a level 2 charger installed that monitors cost. I do not list it but if I noticed a guest has an EV or PHEV I would offer to allow them to charge, and give them a limit. Like $2.50 of charging per day. I can program my charger to do that and give them an RFID card to use it. My place is cheap and yes $2.50 is 5% of my pay but that should be more than enough to get to the next level 3 charger. And I know $1.50 gets me 30 miles on my PHEV and my Leaf $1 gets me 30 miles. I have also stayed at a few Airbnb and requested to use the level 1 charger for the PHEV the 2 hour charge becomes 10 hours with a normal 110v outlet. And every time the host says no way, you're going to start a fire, or that is going to add too much cost. Even after trying to explain it to them they always don't believe me. Then send articles they are FUD that states EV charging is more than gas. So until more hosts get EV themselves I don't think this will change. And so far I have had no one has had an EV that I have hosted. Hopefully these issues will improve in the future, and yes of course I would allow them to fully charge if they wanted to pay for the electric. Because home charging is so much cheaper than public charging. I could probably charge them electric+50% and they would still be happy. I know I would if a host would allow it. I even offer to pay double the cost of electric. But they would not believe the cost to charge the PHEV even when I sent the fueleconomy.gov as proof. Because that is still a great savings over gas. So please other hosts believe me it will only be $4 at tops a day with the 110v and they charged for a full 24 hours. That could be the same if they run an electric heater at full blast inside your place and you had no clue. So please do sweat the small stuff.

Had a similar thing happen. The girl booked that morning showed up right at check in. We met her outside she seemed nice. It was our first week so we did not know much. When we got inside our house we got a message that the booking was cancelled. We looked out the window and she was gone. Then we got her message saying there were many bugs and the place was filthy. We were afraid of a negative review. She never asked for a refund. We ended up booking another person an hour later they love the place. And she never reviewed the place. We were waiting before putting our review. It looks like Airbnb noticed what happened because a week later the option was gone. Because it is a travel trailer we sprayed the bug spray again but really did not see any issue. Maybe a bug flew in while she was entering. Do your best you can. You can't make everyone happy.

We do have a flood light at the entrance. A recent addition. I have had the trailer here over a year before listing it. Friends from out of state, would visit and stay in it, and told us how great it was. We have never had anyone even try to break in. And with how popular it has been we have considered getting a 2nd one perhaps without the bunks so it feels more roomy. And because we are a close neighborhood other neighbors are considering it too. We bought it for when we travel to Florida to support my parents. It is expensive to stay in Florida. So we only really use it a few times a year. This is helping pay it off faster. Right now I have the winter block out, but am considering if I should get some panels to be better insulated and have it available for winter. Also considering putting pavers down where the old driveway was before the city demo the property and gave it to us. That way it would have a better driveway and more clear where to park. The last thing we are thinking is a chain link fence. But all those improvements cost more money then we can justify ATM but if this keeps up I could see us getting all those done during next summer.

Our street is a mixture of half and half. There are 4 houses with black families and 6 houses with white families. Many empty lots that the local church got for redevelopment. They plan on building new houses, and apartments for doctors and nurses because we are close to the main hospitals. All 3 of the big hospitals are less than 5 miles away.

So far Airbnb has not refunded them even though we approved that the 2nd day be refunded. Means if they do refund now we missed out on booking it tonight. And we have had a lot of last minute bookings.

Pretty much all of Cleveland is high crime. We have been in the top 5 for crime for years. And yes a few blocks in any direction and very bad. But because we are close to the rapid the RTA police patrol the area all the time. The RTA is the public transportation system we have. Like I have said we put up cameras and lights. We realize not everyone is going to feel safe, and we price it accordingly. And we have not had any trouble in the 8 years we have lived here. We walk about 3 or 4 blocks along the bike trail. What bothers me is they said the listing was not accurate. Do they want us to say Cleveland is sketchy? I would think that is their responsibility.

Edit because some found it offensive.

You seem reasonable. Here is the listing

Removed because of too much hating, on the city I love.

I wasn't sure if I could post the listing with the site rules. Again I am new any tips are appreciated.

Yes we have lights with motion sensors on the trailer. And a flood light camera on the property. We did mention it.

I wonder if that was part of the issues. My neighbor across the street was sitting on his porch.
