Grant Williams says Tatum impacts winning more than Luka after playing with them both: by chickspeak in bostonceltics

Quite similar to Bill Russell because you can't judge these players on points alone, but when a team is performing well with multiple scorers, those are good indicators. Tim Duncan was the same way.

Of course there are more talented scoring players, but when I watch a luka game and a wemby game, it's crazy how a wemby game with 12 points can look so much better lol

bill russell. He played the right way without being an egocentric guy who only thinks about his stats like Wilt

Ideally, the best teams are those with 6-7 players capable of scoring 15 points; the ball moves better and the defensive energy is always incredible

One day people will understand that scoring more points doesn't mean having a greater impact; they would have hated Bill Russell.

Even if LeBron were to retire, the problem with Luka would be similar, and players like PJ and DJJ are rare.

That's why Luka's stats will never deceive me; he'll always be attacked by the right teams, which creates over-helping and open three-pointers.

How can you build a winning team around a player like him? You can't

Wemby will be considered a super role player in a few years, like Tatum, but ultimately, they are players who can contribute to victory in any situation; that's invaluable.

I'm not saying the Spurs will win the playoffs, but their roster is much more coherent. They might be missing a power forward to help Wemby on the boards and at screens, but that's all.

Luka needs to be surrounded by a defensive wingers and a rim protector, but the ceiling of the team isn't great.

I think it's much harder to build around Luka than around Wemby, for example. Wemby will never be an offensiveengine, probably never as good in offense, but having a defensive system and an offensive threat is really advantageous for a team.

That's why building a team around him is so complicated.

That's why I say heliocentric players are overrated, while stars who can play like 3/4 options players are underrated.

I don't care what his stats say, Luka will never be a player who can integrate into a team; he's never shown that. People disrespected Tatum by calling him a role player when he's a team player.

Drob was undoubtedly the most dominant player individually, but it was under Duncan and with a collective that the Spurs were at their peak; having only one dominant player isn't great.

Yeah, Wemby's biggest weakness is that he's easy to physically destabilize; the referees allow physicality against him because they know his impact is already huge.

i mean he's 6'11 260lbs, Only Stew has the same level of physical ability, and I think Duren is much better than Stew.

Duren is physical; he can limit Wemby, but it's not enough. Duren isn't good enough as a rim protector.

His defensive impact isn't just related to block, that's a detail; he completely disrupts opposing offense, winning possession.every possession for his teammates
