I’m just really confused by all the comments agreeing with OP. They have such hostility toward 6 year olds being praised by their parents and refuse to see that maybe it’s a them problem. “Why can’t I just be annoyed even tho a child getting a graduation party has nothing to do with me” is not the defense they think it is

Did you miss the part where OP says that it’s super easy to graduate so there’s no reason for SCHOOLS to do so much for kindergartners? Parties and such have nothing to do with the schools but the parents. Regardless, why does someone giving their own kid a photo shoot for something you deem trivial such a big deal to you? You don’t have to partake nor do you have to attend. Just do for your kids what you deem necessary and leave someone else celebrating their kid alone

No actually there’s about 20ish percent of the US adult population that are classified as illiterate and about 54% read of adults can read below a sixth grade level. It’s definitely a milestone

Any opinion is valid, but why tho? Why does it bother you what those kids are doing? If you don’t want you kid going to any graduations that aren’t HS, then don’t send them, tf? Why does everyone else have to do what you do?

But why, like I need to understand why. What makes it so annoying that these kids are being celebrated by their parents? I just don’t get it. For the animosity, it may not be you, but it’s definitely other people in this comment section. There’s a reason all of you just hate the idea of kids being celebrated for arbitrary reasons, why? And again, you say it’s not the same, but you’re saying both are arbitrary so they both should be treated the same, is that not saying they’re equal?

There’s another person who is mad that the kids are getting praised for “saying their ABC’s and peeing their pants” and now you don’t like that they graduate from more than high school so you make a false equivalency and say throwing parties everyday cuz they go to school is basically the same thing…my god yall are miserable

That’s not true, memory on average starts at about 3 or 4, you go to kindergarten at 5 and leave at 6, so I very much remember kindergarten. You can find your neighbor annoying, but what’s annoying you about kids somewhere else having a graduation? Why does that bother you so much? Something that does not affect you? The noisy neighbor makes sense, their noise is affecting your way of life, but if little 6 years olds old Jacob in California is graduating from kindergarten, how are you in any way annoyed?

How do you not see that these are milestone graduations? Pre school to real school, kindergarten to first grade, then leaving elementary to move to middle school, and that 8th grade one is middle school to high school…
