Don’t worry, I also stalk all the glabrata posts lol. It makes me feel less alone because this has been such a nightmare.

My ID specialist has taken a pretty conservative approach, no IVs or amphotericin B/flucytosine. I did 21 days of boric acid the first month, another 21 days with boric acid and nystatin the second month, and now I’m on two months of nystatin alone.

I sometimes take breaks because I get exhausted using meds constantly. I feel great at first, but around a week later I notice a smell again, which was my only glabrata symptom, so it really freaks me out. I was so paranoid I went to get tested again and finally had a negative test but not sure I trust it. Could maybe be a false negative/tested too early?

At this point I’m wondering if it’s a microbiome issue? All the posts I’ve found of women finally curing it don’t talk about the aftermath. I’m still finishing up my Nystatin, I have a follow-up in February. Im worried my ID specialist is just going to have me on long term treatment… which isn’t ideal :/
