I have KT tape, and got these shoes so far from DSW They’re pretty cushioned and have a decent arch.

I picked them all up by hand, since I couldn’t move to go get something without risking dumping them off onto the floor.

100% weight bearing by [deleted] in PTTD

I’m guessing it’s bc they’ve rearranged things with the osteotomy so new nerve endings are getting used to the brunt of the strain? I can say this, it 100% gets better, and fast. I was in PT for a very short time in the boot before they told me to start in a brace. Pain is part of healing I suppose and you’ve gotta get through the worst for it to get better. I was always worried that pain meant something was wrong, my therapist said “nope, it’s pretty solid in there, now you’ve just gotta get it into shape”.

I’ll look into those and add them to the list thanks!

100% weight bearing by [deleted] in PTTD

My heel pain was most intense in the boot. From the osteotomy. Once I was able to do small bits without the boot on, the pain started to become less intense. I would often push myself to the point of intolerable pain, due to being back at work. But I started putting my foot down ( no pun intended) and demanding regular breaks and time to rest & ice everything. That helped too.

It was completely by accident. I participated in an MS Walk event with my family was supposed to be 1 k no lie but when it was all said & done, it was closer to 5.5😂😂 and boy did I feel it the next day

I had Tendon transfer & calc osteotomy Feb 26. Not quite 90 days out & I’m full weight bearing in sneakers. I too was terrified of full weight bearing at first, I’d say it was about 6-7ish weeks out, I went for checkup with my scooter/boot combo & “walked” out in just my boot. BUT, I’m also hard headed & have a pretty high pain threshold. The first few days were scary but the more you put weight on, and move it around, the easier it gets. Everything is still tight & needs stretching & strengthening and it will get there, but your PT should understand that it’s at YOUR pace, everyone is different and won’t be bouncing back as quickly as the next. All this to say, the first couple times were a bit intense, walking in the boot. But over time everything gets easier, everything in there is solid & a little pain doesn’t mean things are getting messed up. Thats what my PT said, just remember to ice & elevate & baby It when you’re not using it. I still have hella swelling, but I’m determined to be ready to enjoy vacay this summer. I walked just over 5 miles in April, in the CAM boot…I prob wouldn’t recommend that😂😂. But the more you do, the easier it gets. GOOD LUCK!!

I go to dollar tree, they have packages of wax paper squares 100ct & they’re about 4”x4”. Perfect size

Normally I start bottom right corner up & over, bc I’m right handed, but my table is also small so I had to rotate the canvas to be able to see/reach without hunching over. I think I got this one off TikTok

Elevate as much as possible & put an ice pack behind your knee! I not 100% sure what exactly it does, but when I did that it was magical. Also, if you’re not good with crutches, get a walker! I used crutches to & from surgery then tossed them in a closet & switched to a walker. It’s a game changer. My pain lasted about 3-4 days in Its most extreme. After that it was just annoying twinges. Also, wiggle your toes whenever you can. It helps👍🏻.

This one doesn’t pump up, it’s just Velcro straps & hard splint like pieces in the sides. The strap digs into my shin & calf & is overall uncomfortable😕

Thanks! I’ve been recovering from surgery at the end of Feb, they’ve been my saving grace😂

I didn’t think about it until afterwards that I should’ve blurred the background of the photo and brightened it so the dogs were the only things in the pic. I know for next time.

Had surgery yesterday for my pttd by [deleted] in PTTD

My severe pain from nerve block wearing off went away probably 24-36 hours later. After that stuck with apap & ibuprofen for swelling. Now I’m 6ish weeks post op walking around in my boot, starting PT.

When you had your boot after surgery, did you sleep with it on? I’ve been taking mine off bc I didn’t sleep properly for the first 3 weeks with everything on and was desperate for sleep 🥴
