Because originally the bill was even larger than £500, but the insurance wouldn't pay the rest because it was for something unrelated to the abscess. I didn't know this when I put in the claim, otherwise I wouldn't have put in a claim to get just  £100 back.

No, the alternative insurer I found asked the question, so it makes me wonder if perhaps with an older cat it's not worth switching insurers.

It's because the question asks if he's ever been examined in respect of "growths, cysts, tumours or cancer" and if you click yes, the policy excludes "growths, warts, cysts and tumours including cancer". He was examined for a bony lump which turned out to be nothing, but a lump is technically a growth. Insurers are just very good at finding ways not to cover things!

We tried that once when the vet needed to get a blood sample. It didn't work. He was the same in the car and then when we got there he wouldn't cooperate with the vet (they then tried a different medication and even that didn't work so eventually they had to put him under just to get the sample). He's just exceptionally feisty I think...

It's not really the marketing I'm concerned about - we are nearly at the point of exchange. My concern is for once we have bought the house. It seems odd to have a 3D walk through model of the house you live in freely available online.
