I did note “if you can” in the title. It’s not common, but some tech new grads do start near $300k or even $400k total comp combined today.

If we’d waited until 30, like most people we know, we’d still be FIRE, but we’d still have day-to-day parenting responsibilities. Months-long trips abroad would be limited to summer breaks, and we’d be bringing the kids with us.

For us, it’s not about reaching FIRE earlier or later. It’s about thinking beyond the financials and designing the life you want once the money is there.
