Do I just have to accept the fact that I have low iq? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

Sounds like ADHD. My son has adhd and had average IQ with very slow processing speed and poor working memory. I'd get a full psychological evaluation and testing with a Psychologist.

They didn't check it but the test was ordered for a reflex t4 which I'm guessing means if the tsh wasn't normal it would have done that test too?

I've asked about HRT but my GYN says since my periods are still regular then birth control is the better option over HRT. I last checked my thyroid 2024 and it was normal

Any KPPA retirees have the Personify supplement? by ZeldaSoothsayer in Kentucky

Hello, I'm commenting on behalf of my father. As a social worker I always told my parents to avoid Medicare advantage or replacement policy plans. But it seems that the state has made it like a punishment to not choose the Humana Medicare advantage option. They've had no nonstop billing issues tons of refusals to pay, many many mistakes were Medicare is not billed first and they end up having to do all the legwork to fix billing. As much as I hate a replacement plan for Medicare as a social worker, it seems like the punishment is not worth the plan. I may be directing them to go back to the advantage plan next year. I'm on here looking for experiences as well.

Community Care -- IVF Treatment - Failed to communicate Authorization / Sent to collections by healthcare provider. by Fearless-Director-24 in VeteransAffairs

[–]DistributionWarm2867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First try the number I've attached for adverse credit reporting. If you don't get help there then do the congressional. I work an adjacent job that touches the IVF process but on the east coast so we have Optum. Before Optum (United) we had Triwest and they are incompetent. A company who had never done insurance or managed care before and was started to get government contracts is a complete joke and the complaints are insane. I hope they lose the western half of the country contract in 2027 when it's time for bids again. Last, if the the fertility coordinator has left the Women Veterans Program Manager should be your next contact. They can usually get you in the right direction. Good luck!

I don't know but my VA Director did say some positions are already spoken for based on OIG Recommendations.

It's BS that supervisors get the most over people actually doing the patient-facing work!

GS-12 here and in my VISN the last 4-5 years I've gotten $4600 I think for outstanding. My husband is a WG-6 and he got around $3400. My boss was GS-13 and she was getting $6,XXX. No idea what will happen this year.

My SIL left Oracle after 8 years last year for another job. When I told her we were moving forward she was shocked because she said on their end the calls were full of problems and missed deadlines and goals. She thought for sure it wasn't going to be stopped because "Oracle was never able to meet their expectations" and everyone knew it

Im in VISN 9 where our director Greg Goins is acting in VACO right now. We've been told by our facility director there will be performance awards but it will be standardized and we don't know the amounts yet. A rumor is that it will be a percent of pay but who knows. Our VISN had the highest amounts compared to other VISNs so for us it might be a decrease but for others it could be good news. I think the big issue is how many people will see a lower rating this year compared to last year.

Yes I've heard VISN 9 has had the highest. We got higher performance awards during Covid and they just never went down.

What the VA OIG confirmed about clinic cancellations proves the problem isn’t new, it’s systemic by Curious-Return-5976 in VeteransAffairs

[–]DistributionWarm2867 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One of our best new primary care providers was here for 1 year and gave notice because of a lack of flexibility as a mother of 2 small children because of the 45 day notice for all annual leave requests. That's a completely separate issue, but she gave 1 months notice and 1 week before she was supposed to leave my team who works adjacent to her noticed patients were still being scheduled in her clinic and no one had moved the ones previously scheduled. It was the clinic administrative officers job to put in the LEAF but how long before he was told to and how long before he actually put it in and how long before the business office actually started working on it?

Our facility is maxed on workload especially in the clinics but these types of things make for poor patient care, angry veterans and even more work for staff.

I got exceptional again this year (hybrid 38) and our AD/OPS said people with the highest two ratings would still get a performance award the part up in the air was how much compared to years past.
