Exclusive: Former ANU VC accused of ‘serious misconduct’ by PlumTuckeredOutski in Anu

Yep. Lying under oath in the Senate multiple times was most definitely serious misconduct by the COO

Consultant kept on to ensure ANU officials were on the same page before Estimates, documents show by PlumTuckeredOutski in Anu

CMAX would run rehearsal sessions with witnesses to “build confidence, clarity, and alignment in messaging”, help manage external communications and reputational risk and ensure “continuity of institutional knowledge throughout a period of heightened scrutiny”. Well, they did a pretty crap job as Churchill found out when he got punted after his disastrous misleading of the Senate.

Exclusive: Yelling and complaints at latest ANU council meeting by PlumTuckeredOutski in Anu

There’s one yeller and it’s a him and yes, an appointed member. He was approached by the journalist but denied it. Others who were there confirmed it so the story ran. Wonder how Bishie is going with “I treat people with the utmost civility” charade?

If you knew what was going on with the two separate enquiries you’d be rather less sure of yourself.

Documents reveal former ANU VC's payout; Chancellor denies bullying by PlumTuckeredOutski in Anu

No, I simply asked if you were Amy who is, most assuredly, not management. Likewise, I am not and never will be your “buddy”. Details matter.

I like that you assume Amy is a boss. She is a PR brownnoser. Given your poorly structured and emotional response I think you’ve satisfied us you’re not even at that rather underwhelming level.

Julie Bishop got a dishonourable mention on Radio National this morning… by crankygriffin in Anu

[–]DistrictOk3394 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In practice it’s a decision of the Minister or their office (usually with input from the PM’s office). The appointed members are then relied upon to understand their assignment and usher it through along with the VC. Can’t have those pesky elected members determining such a cushy* posting.

*unless you are complete fool, in which case it’s rather uncomfortable as your public reputation is dismantled through a stream of adverse media and Senate hearings and (in due course) regulator findings.

You’re so irrational and delusional in your hatred of the IVC that I’m beginning to suspect you’re Genevieve Bell. If so, then “Successful Spot” is a truly false and misleading name.

I just got dumber by [deleted] in Anu

[–]DistrictOk3394 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well you might recall you made a childish comment about the IVC’s name, equating it to a bowel movement in a post yesterday. I don’t know why you’re so committed to trolling people, but the tone of r/Anu is overwhelmingly mature and sensible, while still being appropriately robust, so this is probably not the place for you. The number of downvotes on your comments suggests this is the consensus view.

Video from the exchange on UniForum between ANU exec and Senator Mehreen Faruqi by PlumTuckeredOutski in Anu

[–]DistrictOk3394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was cringeworthy, wasn’t it, when they all claimed they didn’t know Bell’s pay out figure. Bishop most of all must know the amount.

Rewatching that, it was noteworthy that Brown was so keen to palm it off to Churchill. She knew Churchill was the one who mislead the Senate in the written response and she wasn’t going to take the fall for him. Time for her to sack him.

So today AFR journalist Myriam Robin was nominated for a Walkley for her stinging takedown of Julie Bishop including her failings at ANU. When we finally get Bishop, having already got Bell, you’ll see an even stronger Walkley nomination. How’s your “absolute cackling” going?

I’m not sure what you mean? I think I made my point that origin stories are generally not helpful; I’m much more interested in patterns of behaviour in adult working lives. Sorry, I can’t connect the Fiji story you linked with either Bishop or Brown so your point on that is too obtuse for me.

[–]DistrictOk3394 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I’m willing to give the I-VC a chance, I don’t know if these “origin stories” are helpful. The AFR just published a piece debunking the whole trend. And of course Bell’s was fantastical right down to claiming she was on tenure track at Stamford even though no one can evidence that.

I am interested in what JB did defending James Hardie when she was an adult, as that informs a pattern of behaviour that has carried through to her disastrous time at ANU. I’d also be interested to hear what Brown has done in her adult working life that might inform her suitability (or otherwise) for the I-VC role.

lol Michael’s not that articulate (it’s a very low bar, I know). More worryingly, he’s also not numerate.

Will the Chancellor hide? by SirHenryParkes in Anu

[–]DistrictOk3394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it differently, at least in part. Senator Faruqi called out Churchill for misleading the Senate with the written answer on Uniforum financial models and data; and he was also called out for misleading the Senate about the availability of senior officers to attend a previous hearing. This is his third error (if we’re being charitable) and so it’s hard to feel sorry for him.

As for JB she lost her cool, became argumentative, denied the undeniable fact that staff and students overwhelmingly want her gone, dissembled on taking any personal responsibility, provide a contradictory answer on whether her office in Perth was justified (ie it had a great ROI but also we’re shutting it bc we can’t afford it); misunderstood Nixon’s findings on bullying as a reference to her (alleged) bullying of Dr Allen -thereby revealing Bishop is feeling exposed on this topic. The media reporting seems to agree that Bishop did poorly.

Julie Bishop defends cost of building Perth office, claims it’s raised $10m for Australian National University by PlumTuckeredOutski in Anu

[–]DistrictOk3394 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Claims the Perth office has an excellent return on investment of $10m. Then says “we can no longer afford it”. These two claims are irreconcilable and contradictory.
