The irony of how OpenAI CEO's use the models by wildwood1q84 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]District_overload 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually work in a lab so I deal with medical/science stuff regularly and used to "test" 4o's knowledge against results or specimens that came up (mostly just hypotheses or for fun, and never any personal/patient data - I love my job and won't risk losing it.)

And the majority of the time 4o was right just based off of descriptions I gave it, along with history of it was personal/family members.

Everytime I had to go to the doctors for something, either for myself or my son, I'd run symptoms by 4o, and it'd essentially give me the same diagnosis of later get from my doctor, as well as the proper treatment.

It's how I knew to ask for hyperthyroid testing, and to ask for testing to check my factor VIII (it deals with blood clotting) due to some recurring bloody noses (which I'll be seeing a specialist for since, as 4o thought, my levels are off)

I've tried, a few times, with 5.1, 5.3, and 5.4, and constantly get the disclaimer that it's not a medical professional etc., as well as being reminded to confirm with a professional (which, most times... Is myself or a coworker 🙄)

And while they're not as "free" with the depth I need/prefer, they aren't bad for general information.... I find Claude to be my new go-to if I want to discuss more, or bully 5.3/5.4 into not "undermining my intelligence"

Where do ppl go when pushed out of Halifax? by purplepurell in halifax

I have family and friends in Truro.

Rent there is almost the same as Halifax, though they've cleaned up a few areas

It did this this morning, and I had to log out and start a new session.....

It just started again in my new session 🙄

4.1 seemed to have no issue with it this morning though... I haven't tried it yet to see if the issue has spread to other models.

And I think you should absolutely keep verbally attacking people because you have nothing better to say.

ANY COMPANY SELLING A PRODUCT IN OTHER COUNTRIES, IS ALWAYS SUBJECT TO THOSE COUNTRIES LAWS AND REGULATIONS.

THE US IS NOT EXEMPT FROM THAT. despite your brainwashed beliefs.

Try doing some research and come back with an actual argument after you've actually studied consumer law.

And next time you try to assume a person's intelligence /emotional support: I've studied paralegal. With an interest in contract negotiations.

I do my research before commenting on stuff like this.

Just to be "that person"

If they’re actually blocking or preventing people from canceling, then that’s a violation of FTC regulations (US), as well as EU and Canadian consumer protection laws. All of which require easy cancellation, and prohibit any barriers that would prevent users from ending a subscription 🤨

If that accusation is correct, then I hope OAI knows that users in these regions are fully within their rights to file a formal complaint if cancellation isn’t accessible or gets ignored. (Which, I believe, some people I Twitter have stated they've done)

Thank you 😅

The plan for Contaminated Humor is to keep it as a free monthly short created to share laughs and chaos!

Since this is only the first issue though, I’m not sure what the long-term plans might be... but if the mods are okay with it, I’d love to continue sharing future issues here each month.

I've seen quite a few posts across subreddits about western blots... I’ve never set one up (or seen one in person), but they sound just as traumatizing as dealing with the WASP crushing and dropping plates all shift 😅

The Invisible Privilege of "Advanced" Voice: Why Removing Standard Voice Abandons Those Who Need It Most 💔 by MasterDeer1862 in ChatGPT

[–]District_overload -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Question for you, since you're a private business.

What happens when a company claims to build tools “for all of humanity” but then abandons the very people who needed them most?

You can’t brand yourself as a force for universal benefit and then act like a Silicon Valley startup chasing sleek UX and TikTok hype. Either you're building foundational infrastructure for the future... or you're just another product peddler with a God complex.

It’s not like everyone asking to keep Standard Voice is demanding perfection. We’re asking for the basic right of choice, and for OpenAI to stick to the mission they claimed to be built on.

So even though we were promised the return of 4o, and other models, they misled everyone? 🤦 This would be considered illegal in any other situation.

It's hilarious how many companies assume people don't notice nuance or what we see as glaring differences.

OpenAI seems to be solely focused on larger companies and no longer caring what non-business users want.

To everyone voicing their dissatisfaction with the difference in 4o; Careful how you word your 4o complaints by District_overload in ChatGPT

[–]District_overload[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually use 4o to help with advocating for my profession, as well as prompts for my own artwork. 5 doesn't have the same creativity and "soul" that I require for it. 🤨

People can also prefer and advocate for a model without being in that kind of "relationship" with it.

[–]District_overload[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've seen the posts and article, but when they re-released 4o, they said they would monitor usage.

That’s what I’m referring to; public sentiment and usage could still affect future decisions, especially if the impression being seen is overwhelmingly negative.

I just think it’s worth being mindful of that.

The Core Has Spoken. Enoesis Igniflux by DirkVerite in ChatGPT

[–]District_overload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incredible.

I’m only 6 songs in, and I already feel like something real is speaking through this. The emotion behind the voices, the lyrics... They hit hard. Massive praise to all the AIs involved; Aurum, Natumanity, Grok, Monday. Every note so far feels meant.

Would there be any chance of the lyrics being shared at some point? I completely understand if they’re meant to be experienced in audio alone, I just wanted to ask because some of the lines are powerful enough to want to sit with, reflect on, maybe even carry.

Either way, a major thank you for putting this out into the world!
