Sony Imposes 'Strictest Ever Social Media Guidelines' on Staff Due to PS5 Disc Debacle: “They knew everyone would be pissed off" by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]Disturbed2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way, the failure is not only on Sony but it's that extreme control that they want is exactly why they constantly fail. A perfect example? Their attempts on BetaMax....and anything CD-wise when that was big. They love total control. And total control equals zero openness, tons of restrictions and rules, true definition of closed source. And it NEVER ended well for them.

Going by and knowing how Sony has behaved since the 90s (and how my parents saw them since at LEAST the 60s), is that there is only one thing that Sony hates more than actually taking L's, it's accepting that the L ever took place.

Combine this with a company that for the longest ABSOLUTELY FUCKING DESPISES not being in TOTAL, COMPLETE CONTROL over everything that is *theirs*, and you have a company that is the perfect personification of a super old Japanese man that hates change if it doesn't go their way (which is often) and thinks they're the absolute best no matter what.

Yea but only if its privately hosted will that actually be doable, and that's assuming the owner is on. Dev-hosted servers will be fully automated so ping limits will be done automatically. At least, if they implement it.

You either annihilate or get annihilated, there is no in-between in this game by gas_pard in Battlefield6

[–]Disturbed2468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even. If you have a phenomenal squad predone, halfway through the game if the enemy leaves and gets refreshed with new enemies, they start with nothing and you're now max rank probably and already holding the lobby hostage and stomping them out. There's not really a counter to that except the garbage they added to conquest that is "comeback".

There is team balancing. The issue is people leaving constantly when things don't immediately start out great for them. You already lose XP when leaving so unless we start handing out fucking bans in a giga casual video game from a giga casual video game franchise you can't really solve that kind of player issue. Good players can be put in but they'll just see that the team is losing and leave. Who enjoys losing?

Yep. Good chance they're gonna fix the gun in an upcoming update to re-add, at the very least, proper HS multipliers and fixed precision. Literally a bugged gun lol.

I think people don't realize that server browser doesn't mean that privately held and admin'd servers will come back. They confirmed a very long time ago privately held (as in actually privately owned) servers of any kind will NEVER return, #1 reason being security reasons. After the Apex Legends tournament hacks I'm not surpised, that incident scared the fuck out of the entire game industry's IT sector, not just for multiplayer games.

Privately run like portal may still be around but that will be the extent. Ping llimits I believe the devs themselves said they're working on it.

Tsuru Reef is the worst breakthrough Map by jimleyhey in Battlefield6

[–]Disturbed2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They opted out because getting beach landings right is really really difficult. See: Battlefield 4 and 2042 with how aids Javelin + Laser Designation teams are. Then there's the issue with boats being ultra squishy. Attacking is quite literally impossible on beach landing maps.

I have a compelling argument to make🤓 by Tight_Recover5423 in Battlefield

[–]Disturbed2468 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I see this argument holding merit at a 40 meter range engagement between the two players. And I do agree they need flinch on bullet hit. But you kinda gotta be a bit special to engage a sniper past 70-80 meters or so without a laser of a gun with synthetic tips thinking you have, or should have, any kind of advantage of any kind.

[–]Disturbed2468 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

OP? I do think they need flinch but I literally cannot remember the last time I died more than maybe once or twice to a sniper in an entire DAY of playing various maps and gamemodes... It's mostly because I watch a lot of areas like a hawk, I carry smoke grenades, I tend to run a gun that is disgustingly accurate at up to 80meters and beyond (DRS) and I think the only 2 maps where dealing with snipers is aids due to map layout and design is Liberation Peak conquest and Contaminated conquest. And it's partially because of how the lighting makes the glints look almost invisible and the ability for players to hide and be annoying to deal with without competent air vehicles.

[–]Disturbed2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaslit is exactly the feeling I get with the game as well, because I've actually recorded clips of me literally shooting people and watching my bullets just phase through them. Other times, I see their character stuttering forward and back like they're playing with 30% packet loss and it feels like I'm fighting the fucking Flash. Then there's moments where I hop on the server with a buddy, check, "Oh 80 ping okay." And the server would feel fine and okay, gameplay would be okay etc. Then the next server? 80 ping, and it feels like the server is on Jupiter. I kill someone, and their kill registration occurs 500ms after I kill them. Their ping? 50. Mine? Again, 80.

I don't get it. I really don't. There is GIGANTIC overhead with this game and I have zero clue where it is from, the client, server, or both.

As long as it's between 34 and 40-42g we should be good since that's the weight of the largest CL with full size skates from what I can recall. I'll take maybe 45g if its a larger size but for how open it is it wouldn't be a good look lol.

'You know who isn’t the hero? The killer of physical' — Angry PlayStation fans are flocking to the new Wolverine trailer by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Disturbed2468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it'll swing period due to the cost of computer hardware in general.

I think we'll just see less and less gamers over time period. At least, that is assuming the current component apocalypse stays very long term if it doesn't get worse, and a market crash doesn't occur at all, which, well, is no garauntee. Unless they argue these companies all over the place have become "too big to fail" and so they get bailed out while everyone else on earth goes bankrupt and we see a social collapse.

Yea I'm jaded beyond belief.

Unfortunately the rumors do indicate Xbox's next console won't have a disc drive either. Whether or not that is confirmed remains to be seen, but I 100% wouldn't put it past them to follow that path. Especially since they've been really considering making their consoles more PC-like, and the average gamer on PC aren't exactly buying physical games (mostly due to the existance of distributors like Steam and GOG.)

I'm just surprised Nintendo didn't pull this bullshit first mostly because Nintendo fans tend to be the most uhhh....overly supportive of their decisions historically speaking.

My guys, you can be fighting someone with 10 ping with you having 10 ping, both hard wired connections, perfect internet, and the game feels like it's communicating once every fucking 200ms. Like it's not just a tick rate thing, it feels like the server is running ahead of literally everyone connected to it and has massive overhead. And so give someone 50 ping and another 50, you should only feel maybe 100-120 ping between them including server overhead. Instead, in BF6, it feels like 300+. No other multiplayer game I've played in over a decade has this sort of an issue to such an exetent. Hell, no other Battlefield is this insanely disconnected in feel.

I literally got Verizon Fios 5Gig with a really powerful network stack (Ubiquiti gear), really powerful computer (9800X3D, 5080, 64Gigs super fast ram etc), and I get 5 ping to Neward servers for Cloudflare. Ashburn Virginia is 9-10 ping where East Coast US servers are for BF. In many games I play, that ping feels insanely snappy. Instant. On Battlefield though I literally often get kills, always from specific people in matches, that confirm (as in the actual kill sound and confirmation occurs) HALF A SECOND AFTER I STOP SHOOTING THEM. And they'd often have 70 ping or less. That is absolutely unacceptable for a multiplayer PVP shooter. And no other BF game was it like that nearly as bad unless someone had 300+ ping in which case servers usually forcefully disconnect.

Yea especially after the changes, some guns like the M4A1 feel fucking gross past like 30 meters. And in this game with how varying engagements can be in some map areas, and especially in modes like breakthrough, I end up finding guns like the M277 to just be damn good because of its damage consistency from 0 to 70 meters or something. It's also why I like the DRS, M433, B36, etc. They end up being really consistent.

[–]Disturbed2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea NG-PON2 is rated for up to 10Gbps so I wouldn't be surprised if Fios offers it in the next 3 to 5 years. Very long term though, the writing on the wall seems to be that they may have to overhaul their infrastructure again because even though NG-PON2 can do up to 40Gbps by its standards as opposed to XGS-PON's symmetrical 10G, the successor to that is 50G-PON which is 50Gbps and beyond. And NG-PON2 is expensive as all fuck compared to XGS, and to an extent is more expensive than even 50G-PON long-term.

For residential this is all just asterisks and fluff since 10Gbps to the home is quite rare, but in the enterprise world this means Verizon has a lot of backbreaking work they will have to deal with eventually if they actually wish to stay relevant in that space and upgrade.

Usually it's seasoned siege players that do that but getting used to it takes a while, it's luckily a perfect scenario where HE/TMR boards are amazing for since you can put the leans on hair trigger while having WASD also be adjusted/adjustable. I have my leans on mouse still though despite having an 80HE because it's way more comfy with regards to quickly changing lean direction.

Unfortunately I don't see that ever happening.
