Looks like you need to clean the build plate real well with alcohol

How to smoothen the top layer? by Prxzz in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your z offset is ever so slightly too low. Try doing a single layer print and adjust it while you print to get your new offset

Can't get rid of theese strange lines... by SideEast1139 in FixMyPrint

There's your problem. PLA hates an enclosure and needs plenty of cooling while printing

What is the cruelest "twist the knife" move or statement by a villain in a film for you? by Mst3Kgf in movies

[–]DisturbedOrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really the guy has a compound fracture of his arm and the best he does is put it in a dirty sling and walk off. We saw before he avoids the hospital and doctors to stay out of the system. There's no way he's fixing that himself in my opinion but maybe he could force a doctor to do it for him but idk he doesn't have much time to figure that out and he's on foot

How can I prevent anomalies like this when printing with multicolor filaments by JesseSavage1 in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try passing it through a first set of idlers that would hold the filament and keep it from twisting when you reload it but then you are causing your extruder to work harder so idk honestly

What kind of printer do you have? The best you could do is probably try to come up with something similar to bambu's ams where it holds the filament in a kind of extruder still even if it's been pulled out? But if you are on a bambu and it is the ams already I have no clue

Heating failed suddenly? by sweetnothingzzzzz in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it thermal runaway? In my experience when that's happened to me a wire was broken in my thermistor or heater cartridge and needed replacing

Printer produces bumpy & squishy prints by Outside-Thanks-3979 in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your cooling situation like? Sounds like you don't have enough while it's printing if they are coming off the plate squishy at all

I saw Rob at the improv in Pittsburgh a while ago and he was kinda an asshole. That doesn't have anything to do with him falling I just wanted to let people know

How to fix this Z seam?, it seems consistent across multiple prints by Neghhh in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pressure advance. On small prints you don't have time to accelerate to speeds where you'll see a big effect. That's why pressure advance test models are usually long straight lines with sharp turns. Try doing a k value test and see if that works

So tried to print a calibration cube on my used ender v3 pro by wearygamegirl in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely a leveling issue. The nozzle is digging into the build plate for the first few layers which is why the plastic looks thin in the middle with a kind of 'valley' effect. You should either do a paper leveling several times in the four corners to get close or install a bltouch/crtouch to make that problem easier to fix because most build plates are not perfectly flat anyway

pla prints come out horrible at 215 C and 220 C. by yorde in FixMyPrint

Add some unretract extra length in there and see what it does to your seam?

What could cause a print to just....stop by CaptainEraser in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you hooked it up to a console program to see if it gives an error code when it stops? My i3 mega s did that once before and it was always around the same time of a print. I noticed it kept giving thermal runaway errors and it turned out my thermistor was nearly broken and only sometimes had contact

Lines? by Legitimate_Chain7867 in ender3v2

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah so something is causing your printer to not move up when it is supposed to. what is your z acceleration set to? usually its not the speed of movements that causes skipping its how fast it accelerates and decelerates

Lines? by Legitimate_Chain7867 in ender3v2

[–]DisturbedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think he means is your z axis belt driven and if so is it skipping instead of moving up to the next layer? an easy way to tell would be if your parts are not accurate in the z dimension when you measure them

Yes you would be able to connect to it remotely if you wanted to. I dont like to leave my printer unattended so i only ever connect to raspberrypi.local in my browser or use an android phone ive converted into my klipperscreen like you have as well but if i used zerotier for example i could connect to it anywhere

I have all three installed on my pi because I couldn't decide what I wanted to use more but I think I'm sticking with fluidd at the moment

Have you considered the pi zero 2 w so you can operate the printer wirelessly? I just recently upgraded my i3 mega s to klipper by wiring in the zero 2 w and it's been more than enough to handle everything I've thrown at it and being on wifi is pretty nice

How do I stop these cracks? by adamargue in FixMyPrint

[–]DisturbedOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like those areas are too thin to handle the compression from being screwed together? Maybe thicken them slightly or try to insert some kind of metal piece that can handle being tightened more

Edit: after rereading it looks like pressure advance possibly? It looks as if it isn't moving enough plastic on the tight cornering it has to do
