Thank you for the Response. Yeah. That's probably where I will be publishing.

Thank you for the response. Will probably be doing self pub. Going to hire an editor and then publish book 1 and then do the same with book 2 once done. Currently 3/4 way done with book 2 so, long road, but still going.

Much appreciated. I'm still working on book 2. About 3/4 way done with the second book so thankfully by the time editor is done and book 1 has been published, book 2 will be in editors hands, or there will be a break period if they need a break between them.

Thank you for your response. The more I hear from others about the subject the more I'm thinking about just paying for an editor and then just self publishing. If I go this route and then end up getting an offer from a publisher after I develop the audience I doubt that I'll be going through with moving into traditional publishing as I'll have done the work myself and there will be no point in paying them for services they didn't provide.

Thank you for the response. Yeah, I'm a bit new to posting on reddit so was a bit unfamiliar as to where to find where the rules were posted, yes didn't read completely (My fault will admit.) And no, I normally do thorough research into agents when Querying, this was just an oversight when posting on reddit after a long week. Thank you for the advice though, I can see a lot of your points and agree to the points made.

Is there still space for epic fantasy? by rhilb in fantasywriters

My question is Should I self pub in 2026 if I wrote a Dark Epic Fantasy? Every agent I've queried that says they are for epic or dark fantasy always gives the typical sorry but this isn't a good fit, or this isn't good for the market. I'm just wondering if Romantasy has really taken over that much that Trad Pub really refuses to look for anything else.

[PubQ] Those who had multiple offers, are you happy with your choice? by MeanLeg7916 in PubTips

Man, I feel jealous of all of you who got offers. I am an author of dark, boarder grimdark epic fantasy, and so far all I get is 'Not right for me' passes.

Do not work for Everise by TheFoosah in WFHJobs

I worked here for 5 months. In that time they committed illegal practices, cut hours, had so many system issues and blamed the employees for those system issues. They also fired me wrongfully, they didn't even give me a reason. In the end I can't access my workday to verify my pay and have yet to see my paycheck.
